I was hesitant to spend this much money on a pair of sneakers for walking my dog, but I've been plagued with relentless plantar fasciitis pain in my right heel, and it has kept me from being active the way I want to be. I was in constant, 24/7 pain, even when sitting. It was excrutiating, and I just couldn't take it any more. I joined a support group on Facebook, and tons of people recommended these shoes specifically. I was willing to try anything at that point, so I used the "try before you buy" program to see how they worked for me. I felt a difference as soon as I put them on! The most noticeable difference is that this particular shoe gives your foot a pronounced tilt forward, taking the constant pressure off your heel and shifting the impact forward to the ball of your foot. This brought immediate relief! Also, I had purchased some Dr. Scholls Plantar Fasciitis insoles previously to use in other shoes, and I noticed that the insoles that come in these shoes are almost identical to the thickness and shape of those, except that the ones in these shoes have an even higher arch support. I can walk in these and not feel like I'm walking on rocks under my heel. When I sit, there's not the constant, throbbing pain that continues. I experienced relief from the very first day I put them on, and it has gradually improved. So I didn't even need the full 7-day trial to know that these were golden! So if you have this type of foot problem, feel confident that these shoes will help you ease the discomfort. Also, I have a very narrow foot, and I was pleasantly surprised that this brand sells narrow widths. My narrow (and thin from top to bottom) foot usually makes it quite difficult to get a good fit in any type of shoe, but these are magical! This was my first Brooks purchase, but I will definitely be back again when I need to replace these shoes. I highly recommend them! I'm also pleasantly surprised that such a solid, supportive shoe is so very lighweight. I didn't expect they would be so airy, but they really are so great for everyday wear. ... show more

I have spent lots of money over the years to find a shoe that helps my heals, arch and/or all over feet be pain free ! These are the winner ! I have several pairs of UGLY shoes that cost over $100 a pair that did not live up to the expectation of what was promised in the advertisement. I took a gamble on the Brooks because at least these would be cute.. to my joy these Brooks Ghost are both nice looking and give the relief I was looking for. From long days/nights on my feet at the dirt racing track or just simple everyday walking they have been a pleasure to wear ! Much better on my feet! I do have comment on the short shoestrings though, could have used an extra inch or so for sure. Not sure why they still have the shorter strings but not a deal breaker. Worth every cent ! Size: 9 Color: White/Grey/Black
These are great because they're wider than most other shoes (even without ordering a wide size) and they don't hurt my feet. I just had ACL surgery so I'm putting a lot of weight on one foot since one knee isn't as strong yet. All of the other shoes I tried, like Air Max and Ultra Boost shoes, were very narrow and still caused me pain on the outer side of my feet. These aren't as bouncy as I would have liked, but it's something I can give up for comfort. The only thing is that you definitely need to size up. I normally wear a 8-8.5, but after reading reviews, I went with a 9 and there's some room at the top, but it just ensure I have enough room. Even with the size 9, it doesn't make my foot look super big. I would recommend these to anyone. We'll see how they hold up over time. ... show more

My PT sent me to a specialty shoe store to find the best shoe for my high arches. After trying on nearly a dozen types, the Brooks Ghost was it. The regular width forms well to my narrow foot with lace adjustments and it doesn't slip in the heel. Also, the heel backs hold up well for those of us who know better than to jam our feet in without unlacing, but do it anyway. I have two pairs - one in black and the black Gortex version - and I wear them every day for work as a secondary school teacher. Despite being on my feet all day, walking concrete-floored corridors, and running flights of stairs, my feet, knees, and hips stay comfortable. ... show more

These shoes are the best. I got an 8 wide so I could put extra arch support inserts in them and wear thick socks for winter. My knee could only take about 5 minutes of walking before it started to hurt. Then the pain would in my hip would start after about 10 more minutes of walking. Now I can work all day with NO PAIN. I have had several pairs of the Ghost running shoes and I just love them I just received the Ghost 14 and went straight out of the box on a 3 mile run. They have a lot of support and cushion in the shoe. My feet never hurt when doing my activities and they have a lot of great colors. I normally wear 7 1/5 but I went up to a 8W I have a wide toe box so I need that extra width and I think they do run 1/2 size smaller. They are Great!!!! ... show more

I have been running in Brooks Ghosts for the last several years and I have liked every iteration. This version also works great for me. The toebox doesnโ€™t seem quite as roomy as in previous versions and the sole of the shoe seems a bit more sturdy than in the Ghost 13. Very comfortable and this is my 3rd pair of Brooks. I just wish they lasted longer. They tend to last me about 7 months before becoming uncomfortable.
