  • Great shoe for walking and hiking
Size: 9 Color: Grey Blue/Black/Pink
I bought these shoes for some hiking at Devils Lake in Wisconsin. We love the bluff trails, and I needed something that could handle all the rock steps. These shoes performed perfectly! Very comfortable for walking and hiking! Fit to size. Good cushion and stable heel. Great shoe all around!

  • Fits like other Brooks I own -
Size: 9.5 Color: Grey Blue/Black/Pink
Good quality, sturdy, true to size, supportive, good traction, color is as described. Keep in mind they are sturdier with the gortex so it has a different feel.

  • Cascadia's are great - but get the 17s if you can
Size: 8 Color: Coconut/Chateau/White
I am a Brooks wearer and previously purchased Cascadia 17 GTX and Cascadia 17 (non-GTX) at least 3-4x, and this shoe Cascadia 18 (non-GTX). I consistently hike (rugged terrain) 5 miles/day, everyday, so they last me about 3 months until the tread is unacceptable for the trails, then they turn into walking around shoes b/c they're still comfy. I bought these Cascadia 18's that I'm reviewing here and I'm on month 2, so ~300 miles in. The tread is still good, but there are gaping holes in both shoes on the toe crease line (this was also experienced in the 17s, but much more mild and didn't break all the way through even after 450-500 miles). The interior lining of my Cascadia 18 shoe has also deteriorated faster than the 17s (but it's not really an issue). I will continue to buy Cascadia's - they're a great buy, great shoe - easy to jog and hike or just walk (versatile) - but definitely disappointed in the 18s. I looked at my older 17s and there was more support on the crease line which is why those survived better. There is no wearing the Cascadia 18 shoes around after the tread is gone next month - there are holes in them and they look terrible. I wouldn't even wear them for gardening - they're going in the trash. Separately, I like my shoes roomy - so for my regular running shoes (Brooks Calderas), I wear 8.5. But for Cascadia's, I wear an 8. (I prob should be wearing an 8 for Calderas, I just like the extra room). You might consider a size down, if you're on the cusp. I have bought an 8.5 in Cascadia's but found that I was hitting more rocks and tripping a bit with my toe than with the 8s. ... show more

  • Great Shoes!
Size: 9.5 Color: Grey Blue/Black/Pink
Such a comfy shoe! They fit perfectly and they are waterproof. Loved the colors as they matched everything.

  • Runs small!
First the important part: this runs small. Like, very small. I'm squarely a size 9.5 and I ordered a 10 and barely got my foot in. I had to loosen all of the laces, wedge my toe in and then stomp to get my foot in. The lacing up, I was thinking how I would possibly walk around my house for 5 minutes comfortably, much less hit the forest trails. After a few minutes of gasping for breath :D my husband felt for my big toe the same way you would with a toddler and he was like, absolute not, you're literally pushing against the toe cap. Sigh. Will be returning these. On the plus side, had they fit: the tread is wonderful and WHY I ordered this shoe. It would have been great on slippery mud trails that we get in spring as the snow and ice thaws and refreezes. It is lightweight and made sturdy, nothing cheap about this shoe. I'm returning these, and on the fence if I will reorder in a larger size. ... show more

  • Great comfort
Size: 8.5 Color: Black/Blue Wash/Flame
Great support and comfort. Toe box is a little wider giving your toes more room for long hikes or runs. Would definitely buy again.
