  • 💗👏 BEST EVER!!
The media could not be loaded. SUMMARY: These are literally the best running shoes I've ever worn, trail or street!! 👏💗 I used to be a high-end triathlete and even had sponsors. A couple months before the Hawaii IronMan in 2013 I got hit by a car while running and was nearly killed. 11 surgeries and 11 years of physical therapy later, I can walk again. And don't tell my surgeons, but I've even been super ultra slow "jogging "a little past month! I just can't help myself! 🙃 I switched to trails because it's so much easier on my joints. I wore Nike Pegasus for decades, 6-8 pairs a year plus at least one other brands every year just to try. But Nike don't last anymore because the support wears unevenly. Two years ago I tried the Nike Vomero, which I really liked, but I hate Nike politics and that they use child labor in concentration camps in China. So I switched to Brooks Glycerin, which I liked better than the Nikes. But now I need trail shoes. I have an exercise science BS and exercise medicine MS, so I understand by mechanics. But shoe technology has evolved greatly in the last couple of years, so I did some good research and then tried on literally 15 pairs of the top models from these brands: Hoka, Brooks, New Balance, Asics, Saucony, On Cloud... and yes, the Nike Pegasus Trail just for comparison. I need a lightweight, narrow/low volume, straight-lasted, neutral shoe with maximum cushioning but that still has road feel, stability without motion control, and waterproof (GTX) as a bonus. It's good to have two pairs at a time and alternate, but I only need one pair of waterproof shoes. That's a tall order, and I thought I'd have to compromise – but I didn't! These three easily stood out: Hoka Challenger ATX 7 GTX, New Balance Hierro v7 GTX, and these Brooks Caldera 6 (no GTX option), with honorable mention for Hoka Speedgoat 5 GTX. I couldn't get the Hokas in my size, so I went with the New Balance Hierro v7 GTX and found a really good deal on Amazon for them. I'll get the Hoka Challenger ATX next time. I couldn't get the Brooks Caldera in a store, but I also found this really good deal on Amazon and saved $60! This seller also gets 5 stars because the shoes came brand spanking new. The top model of ON Clouds were easily the least cushioned, with the Nike Pegasus being the second least cushioned {Bye Nike ~ and I don't even miss ya!} In every regard these are the best running shoes I've ever had! Sure, the bright pink is super fun and sporty, but they're even more cushioned than any of the road shoes I've tried on but have added bonus of extra stability and rugged lugs on the soles for trails. The toes have some dots on them for added protection, but not as much as the New Balance Hierros. They're not GTX, but I spray all my shoes with waterproof spray anyway because it keeps some cleaner, makes them last longer & helps keep my feet drier if I get caught in the rain or go through wet grass. I am happy to give my highest recommendation for these Brooks Caldera 6 trail shoes! 💗👏 Here's hoping next season they come out with GTX! ... show more

  • Be a little patient...
I was interested in these because they looked comfortable and rugged. I also love the black bottoms. I am so sick of white soles/bottoms on most athletic shoes that look immediately filthy. Anyway, I bought my regular size and a half size larger as some reviews mentioned they run small. They definitely ran true-to-size for me. My feet had too much extra room in the half size larger. The shoes felt cushiony but very stiff and squished my feet in the width a bit. I am always wary of shoes that are not immediately comfortable and have to be broken in. My Glycerins were wonderfully comfortable from the very start and I expected that from these new Brooks. I loved the look of these and REALLY wanted them to work, so I wore them inside my house for an hour every day for a week. Slowly, they felt more and more comfortable and less snug across my forefoot. I took them on a quick two mile walk around my neighborhood and they were awesome! I have worn them now for a few walks and am very happy with them. The width feels great, the arch support is good (not too high and not too weak) and the soles have a cushiony, rocker-feel to them. The bottom line is... be patient, consider that they may need a little breaking in before they work for you, unlike other Brooks which are perfect out of the box. For me, they ultimately worked out quite well! ... show more

  • Keep them feet nice and cozy
Brooks is a shoe that I could never live without good quality made lightweight shoe good walker and runner shoes. Also good for style. They look good.

  • Very good choice
Comfort: Comfortable and “squishy”. Stylish but they are bulkier than a regular running shoe.

  • Super Comfortable!
Super comfortable. Great Walking shoes. I have been wearing Hoka’s for over a year but I am very pleased with the support and comfort of these shoes for daily walking.

  • I use them for work
Size: 9.5 Color: Oyster/Blissful Blue/Pink
Very comfortable. Cushioned, nice fit. I wear these at work. I average several miles a day on a concrete floor. I find them perfect in these conditions.

  • Happy with these for trail running
Over the last couple years I've decided to take up trail running. More specifically I've got addicted to Ragnar trail races. I knew that I needed some decent running trail shoes and decided on these. I have been a pretty loyal Brooks fan for the last 5 years. I read a lot of reviews on shoes before buying these. They are on the more cushion side, which I read some pros and some cons on that. Since I do most of my running in the road, I figured a more cushioned shoe would be good. I also suffer from Achilles tendonitis and calcaneus bursitis, so I wanted something with a decent heel drop. Overall, these have held up very well. They've been extremely comfortable to run in and clean up nicely. I think they look great and function well. When my 20-year-old did the last regular with me I bought her the same shoes, next generation, and she loved them as well! ... show more
