To be on the lower end of the Brooks line, I found the trace to be very comfortable and a great walking shoe. Not quite as much cushion as the ghosts, which I also own multiple pair, but found the slightly harder sole to be very stable when walking.

They are comfortable and fit just right. The picture looks dark grey but they are true black as you can see on the pics, that's why Im doing this review. Brooks are excellent for running so you can't go wrong with this pair.

Bought these for my son who is flat footed. I’ve been wearing Brookes for years and love them. I have a bad hip and these shoes have great support and keep me steady on my feet. So for my son who has to always wear an arch support insert in all his shoes I thought why not try them for him. I kid you not he has worn these everyday since receiving them last week. And he doesn’t need his arch support insert with these. Brooke’s arch support is awesome. I own about 6 pairs. Highly recommend for wherever life takes you from running to hiking to walking. I’m a big guy. 6’3 240. The 13s fit great and wear awesome. Very comfortable. I work in a hospital as a nurse. On my feet for 12 hours a shift. Feet and legs never get tired.
