I wore a pair of 1st gen Glycerin Max for a year everyday to work and they held up great, finally the soles started to crush down a little and the bonded on rubber pads on the bottom wore through, but as I said, an entire year of use as a 225lb man. These second Gen shoes definitely aren't as plush as the Gen 1's but they trade some of that for better lateral stability and surefootedness which is definitely welcome. These Brooks running shoes are light but the most comfortable and supportive I've ever had and I've had several. You feel like you're floating on air. If you're a serious runner or walker these are the ones to have. A little more expensive but aren't your feet worth it
