  • One of the few wide size fit options I've found that are actually wide enough
After moving to Florida I went 2 decades without owning a pair of sneakers. Basically was just crocs for work and slide on sandals for everything else. Now in my 40s I got serious about walk/jogging a few pavement miles every day to help keep my body more active and the lbs off. Which early on proved to essentially require some adequate footwear if I didn't want my feet and shins to constantly be suffering. Always had bigger sized feet growing up, but nothing crazy (I'm a us12). Never had nearly the problem then of pretty much every one of these more expensive name brands I was trying on today feeling way too tight. Many which offer W or 2xW options that didn't actually feel that much wider. Now maybe super snug fits is just more a thing people want in this running shoes these days, but that isn't *I* was after. Initially went down the alternative rabbit hole of "barefoot" shoes that seemed to offer legitimate wider fit options. That worked ok for a while, but a need for a little more actual support/cushion then what they offer eventually became apparent. Moved on to *the* wide fit specialist Altra branded shoes from there. Their 2+ generation back models were great for wide fits ( I was a big fan of the Torin 5. Terrible front stitching design tho). Then they sold the company, and the previous terrible durability value I had already been gritting my teeth about got a lot worse. As did the fit of their shoes which completely re-did their sizing model and left everything with a snugger then before fit. Having tired of buying $150+ shoes that I'd literally expect to sport a hole in the front by the end of the first month, I went on a full blown try everything search this last time. Tried on every option the few specialty running stores near me had to offer. Bought and returned various options online that those local stores didn't have in stock to fill in the gaps. After much try and fail, I landed on these. Bought a .5 size up, and the X-Wide. 25 miles in now. Cushion feels good (i'm a heel striker fwtw). Not "perfect" on the fit, but it's not suffocating my foot by any stretch and the X-Wide option on *this* specific shoe actually made the comfort difference pretty much every other brand didn't (that also includes Brooks' other model shoes btw) Totally get most are going to TLDR this review lol. But I at least wanted to put it out there to potentially help anybody that finds themselves in a similar dilemma and is looking for that type of feedback focus I had a hard time finding myself. ... show more

  • Great for Collapsed Arches with Flat Feet
Size: 14 Color: Black/Atomic Blue/Jasmine
I have large size 14 feet, with collapsed arches and flat feet, and was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis by my doctor. As part of my treatment, I was recommended this pair of running shoes, along with specialty aftermarket inserts. Although I had to break the bank for them, they’ve turned out to be one of the best investments I’ve made recently. I’m already planning to purchase another pair or two, along with the inserts, which cost about half the price of the shoes themselves. The shoes fit perfectly, providing excellent support and encouraging a smooth heel-to-toe stride. I highly recommend them to anyone dealing with foot issues or just seeking a high-quality, comfortable shoe. Thanks, Brooks! You've gained a loyal customer for life. ... show more

  • Early review! First impressions
First impressions of these Brooks shoes, they look great in person! Although it’s a wide wear it doesn’t have that awkward super large look that some wide wear shoes can have. • I used this for a few hours yesterday to run errands and they were super comfortable! • Now comes the real test today when I wear them for work, I’m casino dealer which means I’m on my feet all day, constantly moving side to side and walking around. I will comeback for multiple updates one after my first day at work, then maybe a month or two from now. I’ve wanted to try Brooks for quite some time, but price point kept me away glad I found these at $99. •July 29th, 2004 UPDATE: I wore these for a full week at work. - These shoes are so comfortable they don’t even require a break in period. The cushions inside are extremely high quality. I typically wear copper fit compression ankle/foot support with socks while at work to prevent foot pain, however with these shoes I cannot because having both on squeezes my pinky toe too much which got annoying. I omitted the copper fit sleeve and wore only socks no more toe pain and still a very comfortable wear with 8 hours on my feet moving around constantly. • I will be buying more Brooks shoes I think I may size up to 4E to see if the toe box is a bit wider, without having the shoe look bulky. I honestly love these so far. ... show more

  • Max comfort, durability a concern
Size: 15 Color: Grey/Black/Sharp Green
These are the most comfortable walking and everyday shoes I’ve worn. I typically wear ghost, but these take cushioning and support to another level. Love putting them on to go for a walk. Durability has become a concern as the sole is wearing significantly after several months of indoor use and some walking outside. Even with the durability concerns I would buy them again. ... show more

  • These are literally the most…
Gorgeous shoes! I always buy my husband shoes because he loves them so much- for his birthday, for Christmas, for our anniversary, etc. he said he wanted blue shoes this time so I scoured Amazon to find the coolest shoes I could and I settled on these dark but bright blue with a dark soles. I literally gasped and my mouth fell open when I opened the box. They are stunning! I know it sounds a little overboard, but I’m here to tell you they are beautiful shoes! My husband has issues with rolling outwards, but these shoes will not let him. The heel is solid and square and won’t allow him to tilt out, which is first and foremost, He also has spine issues and he was able to wear these right out the box all day long and even put them on the next day and here we are the third day and he is still wearing them. I was going to take a picture and look for them because my husband is mowing the grass. I Looked outside and realized he is still wearing them! They are that comfortable!! although I’m going to have to look at him sideways wearing them while mowing 😮💨. He loves them and I do too! They are really lightweight and really for the money versus those trendy expensive ones these are more comfortable and don’t allow his heel to roll out as mentioned before. With the other ones, The material was netting and it was Like he was basically falling out of his shoes on the outer edges. I don’t see that happening with these. 👏🏻🤩 ... show more

  • Incredibly Comfortable – Perfect for Walking!
Size: 8.5 Color: Grey/Black/Sharp Green
I can’t express how comfortable these shoes are! I recently started walking more to be more active, and after browsing Amazon, these caught my attention. Based on the positive reviews, I decided to give them a try—and I’m so glad I did! From the moment I put them on, the comfort was noticeable. The cushioning makes a huge difference compared to my previous shoes, and walking feels much more enjoyable. I’ve only been using them for a week, so time will tell how well they hold up, but if the durability matches the comfort, I’ll be very happy! As for sizing, I found them to run true to size. I wear a US 8.5, and they fit perfectly. I did see some mixed reviews about sizing, but I’m glad I went with my usual size. Overall, I’ll definitely be putting these shoes to good use, and Brooks will be high on my list for future walking shoe purchases! ... show more

  • Comfortable shoe
I couldn’t be happier with the Brooks Ghost Max! From the moment I put them on, they felt like clouds on my feet. The cushioning is incredible—perfect for both long runs and casual walks. The fit is true to size, and the wide toe box gives my feet plenty of room without sacrificing support. The energy return is noticeable, making each step feel light and effortless. Plus, the design is sleek and modern, so they look as good as they feel. Whether you’re training for a race or just need all-day comfort, these shoes are a game changer. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Switched from New Balance and I will never go back
I was looking for a new shoe brand after wearing New Balance for the last 30 years. Their shoe quality and workmanship have fallen off a cliff. I had 3 pairs in a row where the tread separated almost immediately after starting to wear them. I contacted New Balance and they couldn’t care less so they lost a long time reliable customer. A friend suggested Brooks so I gave this shoe a try. Wow, I had no idea what I was missing. I thought I knew comfort until I wore these all day. We live in central Florida so theme park trips are frequent. My New Balance were fine and felt comfortable and never hurt after walking and standing all day but at night it felt like I had been walking and standing ALL DAY. My lower legs and feet would hurt at night laying in bed. I didn’t think much of it and thought it came with the days activities. Well after numerous trips around the theme parks and other all day adventures in these Brooks shows my feet not only do not hurt during the day but I have virtually no pain at the end of the day in bed. I am not a podiatrist I have no idea what the tech is and I am not using any kind of insert or orthotic just the shoe right out of the box. I am sold, the extra cost over my previous brand is well worth it! I am middle aged sporting a dad bod with probably an extra 25 pounds from my fit working out 5 days a week playing sports days. Note, I am not a runner. I hope this helps someone who thought they too had an old reliable shoe brand and have no idea what they are missing. ... show more
