I've worn Nike and Reebok for years. Never really bothered with a different brand unless it was work related. Just stuck with what I knew. Well Nike is so dang hit or miss for a wider shoe I decided what the hell gonna give Brooks a try. For one I love how lightweight these are! I get the extra wide and my foot fits easily, almost think I should of just went with wide, but I can handle this. They're not far off from price from Nike's shoes. The Brooks Ghost 17 delivers exactly what the line is famous for, with a few stellar refinements. Here is why this pair is staying at the front of my shoe rotation: Premium Cushioning: The step-in comfort is incredible. It provides a beautifully plush, protective ride that absorbs impact effortlessly without feeling overly mushy. It’s the perfect balance for daily training. Consistent, Familiar Fit: True to its roots, the fit is remarkably similar to the Ghost 16. The upper secures the foot comfortably with zero hot spots or weird pressure points right out of the box. No need to size up or down; it’s the classic Ghost fit you know and trust. Excellent Tread Wear: The outsole durability on these is fantastic. I love brooks running shoes. As a marathon runner brooks have been my go to over the last decade. I have tried other brands and something always felt off. These Ghost 17s in particular have a great soft ride with an almost springy return on pushoff. Despite the thick cushion they are still light, making them great for long training runs or even that long race. I have gone through 2 pairs already, over 350 miles/ pair, and would highly recommend these! ... show more

I bought the sneakers for walking. It took me a little while to get used to them because they were so soft. I felt like I was walking on pillows. They almost felt a little unstable so I had to learn how to walk in them correctly. The shoes are really nice. They look good with a pair of jeans or with sneakers. They’re comfortable. I have been getting ghosts since the ghost 13 launch. They were comfortable and had a quality build and these are no different. They are great for running or walking and do have some stylish colors for people who don’t want over flashy casual shoes. They are light with plenty of cushion. Comfortable and always fits just right. My feet and legs feel so much better in these after wearing down my other pair. No break-in time, just put them on and go. Have been using this Brooks model as my primary running shoe for 6 years and not planning on changing anytime soon.

I RARELY write any product reviews, but have been so impressed by these shoes over the last 10 days I had to share. I'm a big guy (3XL Tall Shirts and 13W shoes) and my feet typically kill me after theme park days - we are Disney pass holders, so it's a pretty regular thing. For spring break this year, my family and I booked a 10-day trip to Orlando where we were going to hit all 7 theme parks (4 Disney and 3 Universal) over 7 of those days, and as amazing as that sounds I was dreading walking that much with only a couple rest days. I bought these Brooks ghost 17 shoes Just a couple days before our trip began and had no time to break them in. Finished out theme park week tonight at Epic Universe and 19,000 steps today and my feet feel great... Going back to look at my step daily counter for the week and I've put over 130,000 steps this week and they look and feel phenomenal. The Sole bounce is great and never felt flat so great thickness. The 13 Wide feels great and the wide toe box is perfect so my toes don't get crunched. Felt like I was walking on clouds this whole week while also feeling confident in the stability of the steps while walking, carrying my 6 year old on my shoulders, or pushing a 100 lb loaded stroller all day. Bonus - went through a couple water rides and although I got wet, the shoes felt like there was slip and they dried really fast. 10 / 10 recommend these Brooks.shoes...
