  • Impressive Deal and Familiar Comfort
I couldn't be happier with my recent purchase of these shoes. Snagging them at an excellent price of around $89 during Amazon Prime Day was a bonus, but what truly influenced my decision was my positive experience with a previous pair I've owned since last year. The Ghost 14's performance has been solid and dependable. Right out of the box, they offered the comfort and support I remember from my old pair. The midsole cushioning feels just right, providing a smooth ride that makes each step feel effortless, even during longer runs. As a neutral runner, stability is crucial, and the Ghost 14 delivers on that front. The outsole provides reliable traction, keeping my feet steady on various surfaces. I appreciate how the shoe's design promotes a natural stride, making my runs feel smooth and comfortable. Durability has been another pleasant surprise. My previous pair lasted me for well over a year (in fact they’re still going strong), and I have no doubt these new ones will do the same. Breathability is a welcome feature, especially during warmer runs. The upper mesh keeps my feet cool and dry, enhancing overall comfort during workouts. The Ghost 14's versatility is worth mentioning too. I use them for outdoor runs on different terrains, treadmill workouts at the gym, and even casual wear. They're practical for various activities. The Amazon Prime Day deal made an extra pair a no-brainer. If you're looking for a reliable and reasonably priced running shoe that delivers on comfort and performance, I highly recommend giving the Ghost 14 a try (until they force you into the 15s). It's a solid choice, no cheesy hype needed. Five stars, no doubt! ... show more

  • New Favorite Running Shoes
These shoes are the real deal...definitely agree with everyone else's 5-star rating. I run about 3 times a week, 10 miles per run, averaging 8-9 miles per hour. Been a die hard New Balance 993 or 990v wearer since I started running years ago. The superb cushioning and support kept me coming back, even though they are more expensive and heavier than other shoes. One of my running partners uses Brooks and convinced me to give the Ghost a try. I was doubtful something so light could provide the same kind of cushioning and support I got from my 993s or 990vs. Boy was I wrong. First, they're noticeable lighter...almost to the point of seeming weightless (probably the reason they named them Ghost). Second, the cushioning and support is superb...just as good as the latest version of the 990v. No shin splints, joint pain, or anything similar. Third, they mesh weave uppers are strong and durable while still being thin to keep my feet cool. Fourth, they're noticeably more "springy" and help push me along. Fifth, I feel less fatigued towards the end of my run and feel like I could easily go another mile or two. The other day I realized I hadn't run in my 990vs since my first run in these shoes. So, I ordered two more pairs to get me through the next 12 months when the Ghost 14s were reduced to 35% of their original price during Black Friday. (I typically retire my shoes around 400-500 miles). I think they're a fantastic value at this price point. I wear an 11 in New Balance and found sizing up a half size to 11.5 in these shoes gave me a near perfect fit. ... show more

  • Light, comfortable shoes
I was warned these shoes run small, and that was a valuable warning. I selected "Fit as expected" based on my experience related below. If I had bought the size I typically buy I would have selected "Too small" I typically wear a size 9.5 normal width shoe. I went to a store to try this brand on and my normal size was way too small, in length and width. I tried on a 10.5 wide (There was a tag on the shoe that said "Wide" and on the tongue of the shoe was "D") and those fit a lot better. The store didn't have the color I wanted in that size so I looked on Amazon. The width options on the Amazon size selection chart were Narrow, Medium, Wide & Extra Wide. I chose "Wide" based on what I saw at the store. When I got the shoes I looked on the tongue and it showed "2E" for the width. I thought, crap, these things are going to be flopping around on my feet like crazy. But I tried them on and they fit perfectly. So I went up one whole size in length and 2 widths from what I have worn for years. I'm frankly flabbergasted that 59 out of 74 people said this shoe fit "true to size". If I would have bought a 9.5, medium width I would have had to return them. I would caution anyone who wants to buy these shoes on-line to go to a store and try them on before buying. The shoes are very comfortable and light and I would definitely buy Brooks again. I may replace the laces with round ones at some point as I prefer that type of lace. ... show more

  • The most comfortable shoes I have ever worn!
I work a job doing online order fulfillment at a major retailer. I'm on my feet literally 8 hours, doing around 25k steps a day. at the end of every day my feet would hurt so bad I could barely walk around my house. in the 5 years I've been doing this job I have I have gone through so many affordable (read: cheap) pairs of shoes that claimed to be made for pain free all day use. Last week someone I play games online with suggested I try out the Ghost 14's. Seeing the price being WAY more than what I typically paid for shoes I was a bit hesitant to order, but my online friend insisted that they were worth the price. They arrived at my house after work, my feet were already killing me, I put them on to check the fit. Standing up that first time wearing them it was like I was standing on to huge marshmallows! took a few steps and was shocked at how cushioned they were, I was actually looking forward to wearing them to work the next day to see if that cushion would hold up, or if they would go flat like every other pair of shoes I've worn to work. It's been a week now and they still feel as great as they did when I pulled them from the box. I've been coming home to pain free feet for the first time in a hell of a long time! The ONLY downside I have with them are the laces. The laces feel super cheap and are way too short for my liking. but they were easy to replace. if you're on your feet all day and are looking for some shoes that are going to make you feel like you haven't been on your feet all day, I high recommend getting a pair of these!! ... show more

  • Running shoes - neutral arch support
I've been running with these shoes for about a year, this is my second pair to keep stash of it... you know, later it becomes discontinued and you have to get used to a new brand/style/version. Running shoes reviews, are very personal, as shoes performance depends of a lot of factors, not just the shoes... It depends on your running technique, your running distance, your running speed, your weight, your goals, etc... These shoes have been great for me because they fit: my neutral step, and the way I run. At the speed I run, they give me great support and response. They are OK for different weather conditions, as if it rains they will not be slippery as some others. Durability seems to be OK for my mileage of about 25km (15mi) per week. These shoes are great to enhance technique, but not for very high speeds. Brooks Ghost 14 probably won't work for Stability / overpronation / normal arch / Motion control / severe overpronation / flat feet. I repeat - this is a personal opinion and you have to keep in mind that in running everything counts - for me the shoes are great, maybe for others they are not. ... show more

  • Most Comfortable Shoe
I buy a lot of running shoes and have been loyal to Asics for years. Was looking for a good cushioned shoe, not for running but for walking and to wear with jeans or shorts. Saw these had great reviews. Without question, this is the most comfortable athletic shoe I have ever purchased. The cushioning is just right - not too little or too much. This shoe also adds a little stability, which is important for my gait (I run in stability shoes). I purchased and tested both the Brooks Ghost and the Asics Cumulus. I kept the Ghost and returned the other - not even close. Overall, this is a very comfortable walking shoe, casual shoe, and is good looking on top of that (I got the black and white). If you are a neutral runner who does not need lots of stability, I'm sure this shoe would be great for running too. I may buy another pair before Brooks decides to "improve" upon it. Glad I made this purchase. ... show more
