Best Beast Design of the Past 6 Year. A Winner for Me.

I have been wearing Beasts for 25 years. I bought 8 pairs of the GTS20 and have worn out 4 of them. I didn't like the GTS23 nor GTS24. I have only worn these GTS26 shoes for a few hours around the house. I wear a 12.5 Wide (2E) and weigh 225 pounds. It took a couple of hours for my feet to seat in these shoes. They fit me for length and width exactly the same as the GTS20. I love the insole in these shoes. It is firm but not hard. It is not squishy like most of the HOKAs I have tried. I think this insole will last for a long time. The heel and side foot area have a nicely padded collar. The shoes have a string pull loop on the back for help getting them on. The eyelets for the laces are flat slits to keep the laces from twisting. The tongue has extra padding to keep the laces from digging into the top of the foot. A nice rubber toe bump pad on the front. Nice venting on the front and sides of the shoes. The entire bottom is one thick molded piece for maximum wear length. Nice tread design to avoid slipping on snow, ice and mud. These are solid, durable shoes for heavyweight users. I severely over pronate and these shoes keep my ankle solid and straight. Yes the sole of the shoes does flare out under the front of the foot. These add extra stability for those who need a little extra stability like me. I am reserving judgement on this feature. If this shoes passes the day long wearing and long walk tests, I will buy another pair. I have been looking for a replacement for the GTS20s and I have finally found it! For those who don't need the heavyweight features of this shoe, the Brooks Addiction GTS15 is very similar to the GTS20, GTS23 and GTS24. ... show more

If you are on the heavier side, have flat feet, and looking for a daily walking shoe, I highly recommend this model. It's relatively heavy, the foam is firm (no bouncy, pillowy, or soft squishy response), the shoe base is wide, and guard rails and heel support helps keep my feet in place and prevents supination in my right foot so far. It's true to size in length, but make sure you know the proper width as well. The standard D toe box was fine, but felt narrow on the mid-foot. ... show more

Amazing - Wish it came with longer laces for extra wides

Amazing shoes, the I got the 9.5 4e and they fit perfectly. They feel comfortable and my foot feels very stable in them. The ONLY reason it is not a 5 star, is because I wish they put longer laces on the extra wide. 48in came with the 4es but that isnt long enough for a good tie and especially if you want to use the heel lock. Ordered myself some 57in laces and hope those will work better. Otherwise amazing shoe. ... show more

Great for pronation

Comfortable shoe that is pleasantly supportive for those that have flat feet and pronate. If recovering from plantar fasciitis, this is the best shoe out of the box.

Perfection.

I have a fairly thin 12.5" foot and this is the absolute perfect fit for me. I have tried sevaral of the top selling brands in this price range and Brooks is a better fit than any. Walking is the best of any shoe I have experienced. It fits my foot lke another layer of skin and takes the effort out of walking. ... show more

Everything was awesome but…

As a flat footed walker (I get over 10k/day) I love everything about this shoe but for one annoying & irritating problem. My pinky toes are ever so slightly rubbing up against the curving side wall on both feet. Yes, I wear custom orthotics on both feet, & when I installed those, I removed the foam insoles, that come standard in all shoes. The pinky toes were still slightly rubbing against the outer curve of the shoe on both shoes. Maybe I need to try it in a wider size, but my concern there is that my foot would likely be sliding around with the extra space. Yes, I tried it both with the insoles that come with the shoe & my own and the irritation was still present. Other than that I love the feel of the shoe and everything else about it. I highly recommend this shoe for anyone who does not have wide/toed flat feet. Sorry I couldn’t give this 5 stars. ... show more
