I have owned several pairs of Brooks sneakers over the years and never had an issue. Received my new Brooks Ghost in and all seemed well, but 6 hours into a 12 hour shift my feet started to ache. Never happened before with new Brooks sneakers. Got home after a terrible day at work and compared my shoes with several other pairs. Everything seemed to match, so I get my old boxes out to compare. My old boxes clearly state made in Vietnam, but the new shoe box had a label placed over it, so you could not see where they were made. After some research on line, evidently the Brooks shoes come with a gel insole in them and my new shoes came with thin paper like insoles, so these are definitely not Brooks. I ordered another pair from another company. First thing I checked, was the label, sure enough, it said made in Vietnam, nothing place over it. Next, I checked the insole and yes it is made of Brooks genuine gel insole. Worked the entire next day with no issues! Definitely returning the imitation shoes, as I would not pay 25 dollars for them, let alone 140 dollars! Hope this helps! ... show more

Had Ghost 11's in mens size 12 that fit great so I ordered these in size 12 also, toes are pretty much right up at the end of the shoe. In the older versions of ghosts a size 12 left me a little wiggle room but these are snug. Recommend going a half size larger than your old ones.

I am extremely picky about the running shoes I wear and have found that Brooks shoes are the best one's for me. I have the Brooks Ghost 12's which were really comfortable and I've put a lot of miles on them. I decided it was time for a new pair and I saw the Ghost 13 so I decided to purchase them and I am not disappointed. They are very comfortable and just the right amount of cushion for my feet. What can I say? It’s exactly what you would expect from a pair of Ghosts. These are a bit easier on the joints, but nothing ground breakingly different. If you normally get the ghosts, go right ahead. If you’re looking for a neutral trainer, you can’t go wrong with these.

Type of exercises done: long distance & incline hill runs on & off treadmill. Pros: • Lightweight. • Minimalist branding & packaging. • Comfort is great inside with the toe box not being too wide or narrow. • Shoelace length is ideal; not too long, but not so short that when double-tied, the top of your foot suffers. • Appears to handle mid-foot and heel-strikes well w/o adverse side-effects (but I have only tested this on 3 occasions for each. Body weight, fitness level, running surfaces, and weather will all play a part in how well the shoe holds up). Cons: • None thus far. Additional notes: It’s a great shoe that provides the necessary support without the additional anchor weight that may be associated with other models of this brand or alternatives such as the Gel Nimbus 19 – 22. I would recommend consulting with your local Brooks store just to have a fitting done for your foot. This helps identify your stride/gait and walking + running type are like. The last thing you want is to buy a shoe that does not provide the level of support needed for your body & exercises. ... show more

These shoes want to run right off my feet and leave me trying to catch up. Wore them on a slow 2 mile run and could feel right away they're built for speed. The next day I wore them on a 10k trail race and my feet felt like I had been wearing them for months and already knew how they'd react to every odd landing on a rock or tree root. With all the cushioning they've still got great feel for whatever surface you're on. I have to be a little conscious about my foot strike as I found my heel hitting a lot but it's very easy for me to correct and keep a mid foot strike. I've never spent $130 on a pair of sneakers before but I'm glad I did for these. They are my dedicated running shoes now (sorry New Balance, but these are better). If I can get at least 300 miles of running out of these Brooks will have a long term customer in me. ... show more
