After reading many bad reviews (which were overshadowed by good reviews ), I made a decision to buy this elastic with hopes that I would get a quality product. Unfortunately, that was not the case because I received a tattered piece of garbage, pure refined trash. This elastic is absolutely horrible: it’s brittle, tattered in many places, has a jagged edge (resembling small scallops), and poorly made. The company I bought it from, HLJgift via China, surely did not care because the imperfections of this elastic roll is plainly present from the outside. (View the pictures herein.) Instead of throwing it away, a decision was made to ship it as is to Amazon – and Amazon placed it in an Amazon package and shipped it to me without checking its quality. If so many imperfections are clearly present from the exterior, I’m pretty sure there are many imperfections in the interior of this roll. Clearly, quality controlled failed on both ends, HLJgift and Amazon. If you are in need of an elastic roll, buy elsewhere and stay away from HLJgift. I would never suggest to stop buying from China, because I’ve purchased many great products from China – even elastics sold by U.S. companies – and they have turned out great. I bought this to make fabric face masks for Covid 19. I sewed it into one and after the mask was complete noticed elastic was separating and coming apart. I thought this might just be the tail end so I replaced that elastic and put in a new section after pulling and stretching my new piece to test its durability. After sewing in replacement, it happened again. This elastic cannot go though a sewing machine and retain its sturdiness. You cannot rely on this to hold up washing after washing. I waited over two months to get this, and it finally arrived the other day from China. It is a very poor quality elastic. I guess it's okay for temporary face masks, but when I'm sewing clothing I wouldn't use this because it would be all stretched out after one or two washings.

At a time where we couldn't find elastic anywhere, this product was somehow available! I didn't initially want/need such a big roll, but I'm so glad now that we have it. My husband has been using it to make our face masks. I work in a grocery store for 5 hrs+ at a time so I needed a more comfortable mask and more comfortable elastic than the stuff I was pulling off old clothes. The width is perfect! Only issue which I assume is a problem with any elastic band this thin, is that it curls/doesn't lay well when you're trying to sew. It's held up beautifully though through wash/dry after wash/dry, so...well worth it! ... show more

Definitely not fabric store quality. It came on a paper spool and I doubt it was the specified amount. It looks soiled so I had to wash it because I’m using it for masks.
