  • Best hand grips out there
Nothing to dislike about them. Can be used as hand grips or as ankle cuffs. Well worth the money

These work great! The interior plastic piece on my original set broke requiring me to buy these. On my old ones I always felt like the strap kept getting twisted inside the plastic tube. Not so on these, I would recommend these for sure.

  • Material is getting thinner
The Bowflex hand grips are getting thinner. I bought my Bowflex apparatus in 2007 and use it very regularly--at least three times per week for about 45 minutes per session. The apparatus is very sturdy, but with this much use, I have had to buy a few new parts occasionally. I've needed to replace some cables--not because they broke, but because the plastic covering over the steel cables started to split and break. Other than that, the main wear occurs on the hand grips, because during use, the strapping slowly saws on the plastic tube that makes up the inner part of the handle. The handles That came with the new apparatus in 2007 lasted until 2018, when the strapping on one side of one handle set became dangerously thin and I wanted to replace the set before one handle could suffer a catastrophic break while under tension during an exercise. The handles set I got in 2018 has now--after about 4 years--reached the same condition as the first handle set took about 11 years to do. I have held onto the very first set of handles, and that set and my second set feel about the same in strapping thickness, but the latest--third--set of handles' strapping feels noticeably thinner. During the last four years, I acquired a set of digital calipers, so I decided to use them to check strapping thickness on all three sets of handles. To start with, let me state that my calipers are not an expensive set, they're cheapies, so take the following with a grain of salt. I took my measurements at various places along the length of the strapping, staying away from the area right next to the handles where their condition could have been affected by sweat. Here's what I found: The 2007 set of handle strapping came out to being from 0.036-0.40 inches thick, and they lasted 11 years. The 2018 set's thickness came out to being from 0.032-0.036 inches thick, and they lasted 4 years. The new set's thickness came out to being from 0.024-0.027 inches thick. As I said, my measurements are not of pinpoint accuracy, but the trend is nonetheless clear. Handle strapping thickness is getting thinner. This leads me to expect to get about 4 years out of the new handles if I'm lucky. Now to get further into the weeds. I'm including a photo I took of the handles, looking straight down the inner tube from the ends. The 2007 handle is on the left, the 2018 handle in the middle, and the new one on the right. It's difficult to tell from the photo, but the oldest handle has the thickest tube, and also has the tube end rounded off to slow down the "sawing" effect on the strapping. The 2018 and the new handles have about the same tube thickness, but the ends are squared off--lacking the rounding on the oldest set. (The newest handle's tube looks to be thinner, but that's just because the foam padding extends past the end of the tube instead of ending at the same spot as the tube ends like it does in the older two models.) As an odd final note, the only thing that is actually clear in the photo is that the 2018 tube has thicker padding than either the oldest set or the newest set. Do with this info what you will. I'm very happy with the sturdiness and quality of the Bowflex apparatus in general, but I am somewhat disappointed to find that the quality of the handle sets seems to be declining. If this review is still hanging around on Amazon when I get the new handles worn to the same unsafe state as the older ones, I'll come back here with an update. ... show more

  • Larger that original bowflex grips
They are sturdy but defiantly larger than the originals which can make some exercises awkward

  • Different application for hand grips!
We have a bow flex machine so this is where I got the idea to use these handles in a completely different application. I use a tarp to haul yard debris and it was hard to hold onto the ends of the tarp and pull until I attached the bow flex handles with carabiner d-shape clips through the grommets on the tarp. So much easier on my hands! ... show more

  • Okay replacement grips for Bowflex, but wear quickly
These grips work as expected, but are somewhat small. The biggest thing to watch for is the internal plastic tube that supports each rubber grip. My grips came with plastic tubes that end about 1/2 inch before the edge of the rubber, and the rubber is starting to rip after a month of use due to the plastic tube not supporting the entire rubber grip. The rubber strap/grip is also pretty uncomfortable; it's square and digs into the body, especially during resisted crunches when the grips are looped around the shoulders. ... show more
