Great fit, comfortable sole, insert is well-engineered. The shoe is lightweight yet sturdy. The quality of the leather upper is outstanding. The comfort of the insert is mentionable. Wear these all day long and not know it. I hate socks with a passion, and these shoes wear very comfortable without socks. There seems to be no interior creases or thread-lines to cause skin irritation at all. Much like the shoe is molded on my bare feet yet even in hot weather the shoe comes off dry and easily. Did I mention the leather? It is easy to maintain, wipes clean and shiny with a wet rag. Looks great even after months of daily wear. ... show more

They were cheap and they look cheap. I got them for rainy days so I don't damage my more expensive shoes. These are strict utility when you don't need to impress anyone.

These are lovely shoes, but they are larger than other shoes of the same size (9.5). Too loose fit for extended walking around town, but fine for social engagements.

    • Okay But A Bit Cheap
I give these Bostonian Birkett shoes 3 stars. They’re comfortable, and contrary to other reviews, they’re true to size, for me at least. The issue I have is that they look and feel kind of cheap, are extremely lightweight, and they’re excessively shiny, which isn’t my cup of tea. Also, I seriously doubt that they’re made of actual leather due to the lack of that material’s distinct smell. I paid a little under $40 for these shoes, so I guess it was worth it, but I’m not planning on purchasing another pair again due to how “meh” they are. ... show more
