I ordered this mug because I thought the design and color were lovely. It is attractive in person as it was online, though not quite as shiny as I thought it'd be. I washed the mug in my dishwasher before using for the first time. There were a few white bits on the inside on the on the bottom of the mug (see photo) that I'm not sure where they came from. I assume it was part of the mug, because I didn't have anything in the dishwasher that looked like salt rocks, and because I have to use my fingernail quite firmly to break off the pieces. The mug is listed as holding 23 oz. of liquid. The photo with the coffee in it is showing the space in the mug. The beverage shown is a Nespresso 7.7 oz coffee capsule with a splash of half and half. As you can see, it fills about half of the mug. The mug did not keep the coffee warm, though. Since it's as heavy to hold as you'd expect with stoneware, thermal capability is not part of the heft. It's just heavy. The handle is large enough for you to slip your fingers through. It's a little awkward to hold in the standard handle-holding position because the handle is oversized. I see this mug being used for consuming soups, extra large hot chocolates or other similar confection. Unless you really want an extra large mug of coffee that you are OK with it cooling quickly, I don't see this as an everyday mug.

This is a gorgeous blue pottery coffee mug. I love the stoneware feel, it reminds me of the artists I knew in college who were so talented and threw pots, mugs and plates as their craft. The blue glaze is very attractive and it is very well made. The handle has plenty of room for a larger hand to grasp as well. All of that being said, it is a bit large for my smaller hands. The mug holds 2+ cups of liquid, which gets pretty heavy on an aging wrist with the weight of the mug added. This would make a very nice gift for the coffee lover in your life.

I love this mug. It's a very deep blue and feels sturdy. The glaze on the outer portion stops halfway and the bottom is a bit of a rough texture, but I think it provides a nice contrast to the shiny glaze all over the rest of the mug. There are a few spots that have a bit of the blue missing under the glaze (see pictures) but it's not a big deal to me and blends in enough to not notice it (might bother some people though). I've always been a fan of bigger mugs for coffee and tea since they can hold more liquid and the higher sides help prevent spills.

This cup seems to be well made and holds a very large volume of liquid. My only criticism is that it is rather heavy especially when full. The blue colors are attractive.

This is a big mug, but unlike a lot of mugs this size, it's closer in shape to a traditional mug as opposed to a small bowl with a handle. It is heavier than a standard mug but I still find it comfortable to hold. If you want a soup mug, I'd look for a design that is wider and shorter, but if you simply want an oversized mug for coffee or tea, this is a great choice.

I’ve never had a 23oz mug before & now I don’t think I could live without it! I add collagen powder to my coffee & I don’t want to mess around in the morning with 8oz of coffee!! This is big enough to add the powder to a full 16+oz of coffee & stir it in without slopping my precious liquid onto the counter! First thing in the morning I need simplicity & this mug gives me my simple pleasure my way! I have the green mug & the finishes inside & out are beautiful!!

So I knocked my favorite mug off the counter a few weeks ago. Ceramic purple shards decorated my kitchen floor. I nearly cried. I bought that mug over 5 years ago at a Marshall's and it has followed me through multiple state-wide moves. Rest in pieces, you will be missed and never forgotten. I've ordered a few other mugs and it just didn't hit the same spot. This mug though... This one is different. It's special. Made of a thick ceramic with a beautiful glaze, the bottom half of which is textured and matte so that it doesn't "slide" off a counter. It's big, double tea bag big, my favorite. Heat distributes easily and the handle is sooo comfy and easy to hold. If I had gotten this before my favorite mug shattered it would have given it a run for it's money! Please oh please release this in more colors - I want one in gray and pink asap!!!

I love that the different bands of color are also different textures (glossy, matte, etc). I also love that this is a large capacity and dishwasher and microwave safe. It has gone through the dishwasher 3 or 4 times already and no changes to the finish!
