This is a really good-looking ceramic tumbler, beautifully glazed in black with a dripping overlay of blues, greys, and browns. It's attractive enough to be a vase as well. It comes with a smoky-transparent lid that's held in the cup with rubber gaskets; you can flip the cap on top to drink whatever's inside without having to remove the lid. That's especially nice if you're drinking a beverage where spills might be a problem (say, around your laptop). The lid holds on so well that I've had to pry it up with a screwdriver...but I anticipate that it will loosen up with use. The cup comes with a "vegan leather" (AKA plastic) sleeve or "zarf" that has an elastic band on one slide to hold it in place on the tumbler. It's a chocolate brown, which goes very well with the colors of the tumbler. That's the good stuff. Less good: The sleeve isn't quite as good at protecting your hand from a hot cup as a corrugated paper sleeve would be--it's a more solid material with fewer insulating air pockets. It needs to sit fairly high on the tumbler, and that's a problem for small-handed individuals--the tumbler's diameter is large at the top, tapering to a more manageable bottom. I have small hands, so I tend to grasp this tumbler toward the bottom, where there is no sleeve. Ouch. But the tumbler holds more than a pint of liquid, which can make an already-weighty ceramic vessel even heavier. It's smooth-sided, so for me, the primary purpose of that sleeve is not to protect my hand from heat, but rather to make it possible to hold onto the filled tumbler. My partner, however, has very large hands, and has no problem hanging onto it. I still enjoy using it, but it's really for large-handed people.

In person, this coffee looks even better than the photos of it online! The ceramic glass is smooth, has a real depth of color, and it’s richness lures you in to take a closer look. I was very relieved to find that they inside of the mug is a lighter blue color. I was relieved because ceramics that are a black color do have metals in them. They should not really be used inside containers that we eat or drink from. Ceramics that are black inside may say non toxic but it’s really better to stay away if the black color of the glass is on the inside of a coffee cup. So, this beautiful blue color inside the cup that you see in the photos is safe and so Lovely! I love the size! I typically drink coffee in an 18oz cup so to find it is this perfect size is AMAZING! And for those of you who want to travel with this mug and you typically have 2 cups of coffee, again this is a fantastic size! The fit of the seal on the cup is perfect. That is surprising because I was a ceramics teacher at one time and it is challenging to create cups that are the same size. I’m figuring that a casting method must have been used here. The cup slips perfectly into my drink holder in my car - a lovely look. It is watertight and works well. It is easy to clean and is strong ceramic clay. So, I have confidence that it will continue to do great! As far as cons, there is one small one, and one that depends on your preferences: The small con is that the nice brown fabric holder that they give you with the coffee cup covers the most beautiful part of the coffee cup. However, the plus of using the brown holder is that it feels good in your hands and is easier to hold onto. And lastly the con that depends on your preference is that this coffee cup doesn’t have a handle. As for me,I appreciate that it doesn’t have a handle because in the cooler weather, like now, holding the coffee cup warms up my hands in this beautiful, cozy way. But you may feel differently. I hope that you have found some information here that has helped you figure out if this is the perfect choice for you and I wish you well!

The cup itself is beautiful. Kind of heavy. The lid slides in with a rubber ring so it seals tight, doesn't screw on. I think that is a good thing. Less likely to leak! There is enough room in this cup for 2 cups of coffee. The cup gets pretty hot when hot coffee is in (like a regular coffee cup) but the leather slide on helps immensely with that! This looks very high end all put together. I brewed a cup and sealed the lid and was able to drink it probably 10 minutes later. I usually take it in the mornings with me with no lid so I can drink it almost right away. I like that it's tall so when I take it with no lid, and I put it in my cup holder, it doesn't slosh over the sides if I go over a bump. With the lid on, obviously this wouldn't be an issue at all but Im weird and like to have no lid. Overall, the cup is excellent. Wish it kept it a bit hotter for longer for some of needs, but overall I choose to drink my coffee right away and this is perfect and fancy!

This travel mug looks hand-crafted and has a nice, heavy weight to it. The lid fits in tightly and it does not spill when bumped around in a car. It does not keep coffee quite as hot for as long as a other travel mugs. Your coffee will heat up the outside of the mug, so use the included sleeve. It makes a great gift for the coffee loving commuter.

I thought I found the perfect coffee mug. I don't like metal or plastic travel mugs so this seemed like it would work well. It looked beautiful, and it is. A sturdy, 18 ounce size and a nice leather type sleeve is what I wanted also. I am so disappointed. The lid does not fit (photo) and it leaks! If I push down on one side the other side pops up. This definitely will not be used in my car. I also planned to use it at my office desk but don't think I will use it there either. I try to see the good side of products so ...My only option is to use it as a regular (I really DIDN'T need another) mug.
