They are somewhat more expensive but well worth the small additional cost. When I was searching for durable plastic cups, this is what came up. When they arrived and I felt how nice and heavy they were I immediately suspected they were not in fact plastic. Long story short these are great glass cups and so far have been pretty durable, but I bought them for my kids to use as they are notoriously clumsy.
