  • What they said
I would have to concur with everyone else's review so far. It fits perfectly, is super high quality, the exhaust tip look great and the sound is perfect. I had a Borla on my Scion xA and loved the sound and it's no different here. When I first put it on and took it for a drive, I didn't notice any difference in power. After about 5 miles however, once the computer adjusted, I did see a noticeable difference. I'm also running a stock air box with all the plumbing removed and a TRD (K&N) air filter. The combination works great. No need to pay big bucks for the intake. I've found with the intakes, theory and fact are quite different. Anyways, I thought the Borla Baseball cap was a real nice touch as well. As far as installation, mine was not so easy, although my car is lowered and it was sitting on an inclined driveway - not jacked up. It can be done.... it's just not fun. Still only took 45 minutes. I hear the guys on Toyotanation and some of the other boards saying you don't need to spend $300+ on the Borla pre-made system, but I'll tell you this is perfect and forever. This thing would outlive 4-5 cars. On my xA, the exhausts was just as good 4 years after I put it on as the day it was installed. Here you pay a lot for the best, but you get the best. I'd give it 6 stars if I could. A little more info. I found my gas mileage on the high way only to be slightly better. I found my city mileage down a couple of MPG's but I'm not surprised since I seem to have a correlating amount of increased horsepower and torque. Especially torque. I also noticed that the engine also just is plain more responsive. I'll gladly exchange 2 mpg's city for more power. I would guess around 3-5 hp and that's not just wishful thinking. I'm sure it also has to do with the TRD filter. I'm sure I wouldn't see that much difference without being able to get more air in. It's so much easier to drive better when you can hear and feel the engine. It definitely makes you more a part of the car. At cruising speeds the increased sound is not objectionable at all and after a few days you don'e even notice it. I am really happy I got this. Just a quality piece of hardware! A month later.......... Love it even more than before. I hardly listen to my music any more since I just love the sound of my engine! ... show more

  • Love it !!
The media could not be loaded. Not much to say other than I’m in love with the sound of my little 10th gen Corolla S now it’s gave a more louder sporty deeper sound, but not too droney or ricey. Not crazy loud either the video I posted was in second gear on a canyon so the noise is a bit amplified. DIY FRIENDLY if you do install it your self I recommend a jack but I got away without using one I’m a little more on the slender side of my size. And I would recommend buying new bolts for the exhaust since the old muffler has the nuts welded on to it so you can’t reuse them. There only about $15 on Amazon as well. I installed the exhaust in under an hour. Final thoughts, it’s a very nice muffler in my opinion it is worth the price tag (of course if it was a lil cheaper it would be great) since it’s gives a more unique tone than a magnaflow or flowmaster. ... show more

  • Less rolla, more Borla
I'll let you know what MPG increase I got when I stop loving the sound of this thing and stop stomping the throttle. Best way I can describe the sound is this, not too ricey at all really has a hint of rice since it is a four banger, a dab of fart can in there but it has a nice low rumbling growl to it. Sounds awesome when pushing it hard from 0-45MPH 45-60 isn't bad either. When accelerating it's fun to listen too and it makes the car much more fun to drive. I admit there is a definite drone above 65 but you can hold it steady at 70 and as long as your not giving it more gas to go uphill you won't hear it. But the sound of the radio will drown it out. After 70mph if you punch it really doesn't sound that amazing anymore. If you enjoy a quite car and go on long drives I wouldn't recommend this. If you want to make your car less boring and enjoy driving? Buy it. Pairing this with the K&N CAI transforms the car into a totally different driving experience. Fun note: I went and looked at a limited edition FR-S the yellow one with the body kit and quad exhaust. I started it up and thought it was my car at first. It was uncanny. The FR-S of course sounded better and had a deeper growl but it really surprised me to hear that. (I'm a valet I drive tons of cars daily and know what most sound like) I put this on my 2011 LE and you can too. It's more difficult than installing on the S but I'll tell you how. The S already has the bumper cutout. The LE does not. But with $20 worth of universal muffler hangs from the auto parts store it was easy. Unscrew the two bolts holding it on and WD-40 up the rubber hangers and pull them off with vice grips. Get a longer rubber hanger to mount closest to the front of the car and get a hanger that allows you to adjust the height of the hang for the rear hanger and I also bought a bracket that fit the 2.5inch diameter pipe to attach to the adjustable hanger and wallah! No need to cut up your bumper and the exhaust tip safely hangs securely right below the edge of the plastic. ... show more
