  • A Complete Course in Bookkeeping
Format: Kindle
This book is also a course. I have read the book thoroughly but still have only a basic grasp of all the concepts. It will take me weeks to gain mastery of the material. Having quizzes at the end of each chapter reinforces the concepts. The book takes the reader through each concept very gently, reminding the reader that it takes time and regular review to achieve mastery. I plan to eventually learn accounting. This is a good way to start ... show more

  • Huge help to my business
Format: Kindle
I am just wrapping up "Bookkeeping for Beginners" and it has such a hugely helpful read. I started a business and although I have a background in finance, the bookkeeping portion of the business has been lacking. This book has provided a great base of information and a framework to use moving forward to keep my accounting side in order. ... show more

  • Great Cornerstone to Business
Format: Kindle
Bookkeeping is not a sexy topic but when you are managing a business like I am, suddenly you need to know how it works in the fastest, simplest terms possible. This book, to me, is a cornerstone for running any business. The owner and anyone who has anything to do with operations or management should read this book. Foundations and builds from there. It defines a lot of terms that we've heard but maybe don't understand, reviews the difference between bookkeeping and accounting, common mistakes, and what to do when you are faced with them, and more. There are even knowledge assessments for review. Even though the title of the book is "Bookkeeping", it really should be "Business 101". If a business person doesn't understand a ledger, they don't understand business. Great foundational book, probably the best one I've seen, with plenty of real visual examples. ... show more

  • All you need to know about Bookkeeping!
Format: Paperback
This book is FULL of all aspects of bookkeeping. There is a break down in words for every concept and process, but what I appreciated even more are the provided examples and visuals to help you better understand what all the wording and terminology means when put into practice. This is a great reference book to flip through for any area you aren’t sure about or you can read it straight through to give you a thorough understanding of how to properly set up and establish your accounts whether personal or professional. ... show more

  • Helpful
Format: Kindle
Bookkeeping is intimidating, weird and confusing. Or at least I thought so before reading this extremely helpful book. It explains everything you need to know about tracking and managing your finances. It doesn't dumb things down but it also takes time to explain evrything in a calm, helpful manner. As the book reminds readers, you need accurate financial information to grow your business. This book helps you achieve that. ... show more

  • A Must Read for All Small Business Owners
Format: Kindle
I run a small business and was doing cash-basis accounting with single-entry bookkeeping. My accountant told me it was time to move forward and go to accrual accounting and double-entry bookkeeping, which honestly gave me a huge headache. This book was a godsend. It does get into the weeds (which is a must for accounting), but does it very well. It covers everything you need. I absolutely love how it has an ‘Assessment Test’ at the end of each chapter so you can tell if you are getting it. I will be going through it once more just in case, and I highly suggest you copy and paste the part on ‘Debits and Credits!’ ... show more

  • A step up
Format: Kindle
This provided the basics about bookkeeping and more, which is great for someone who wants to keep track of small business transactions. The provided forms really help keep things organized, compared to scribbling on lined paper.
