Quality, detailed product of mfg wood material. Three adults and about 15 hours of casual effort, we had a very fun, nice piece. Recommend using super glue with a brush, like for fake finger nails. Also, a tiny exact blade to cut the very small nibs still holding items fast on the Laser cut boards. Regular Elmer's is preferred on paper items. Also, we superglue tiny lights and cords, rather than using the direction Recommend tape. We angled the desk and made a few other careful tweaks, making certain that we didn't infere with future directions. Excellent overall design. I'm concerned that other models and companies will not live up to this model. 5 out of 5! ... show more

I really like the look of this kit, it was easy to put together with detailed instructions, it took a while to get the lights right, they are really bright. There are many small parts that require patience to extract from the board without breakage, and although they do come with extra cost for very small parts, I managed to build the kit without any breakage. Overall, this was fun and I would do it again. But there were definitely issues. First of all, glue was not included, get some clear wood glue. You will also need tweezers, Q-tips, and sandpaper. I had to sandpaper a few of the pieces to get them to fit. That wasn’t too bad, but at the very very end, I could not get all three sides to fit together. In a sense that was my fault, but in another sense it was the manufacturers fault, because that should not happen. I had to call a friend who is a professional, carpenter to Fashion an extra piece to finish it. What I did, which made it really special is that I personalized it. I made it as a gift to give to friends of mine who owned a bookstore. So instead of using the fake pictures and things that came with the kit, I printed out pictures of their bookstore and similar things And miniaturized all the pictures and used them instead. It really made it special. I totally agree with another reviewer who complained about the tedium of making the little box. There was no good reason for making all those little books. And, for example, you have to glue paper around the pot of a potted palm. Who cares about that? The wood should have come pre-finished and ready to go. When I purchased this I had very low expectations, but boy was I wrong! The material used for this is sturdy, not cardboard like you might think, and it looks great when put together! Will definitely be purchasing other products from the same manufacturer, they are so great.

This was my second book nook, but my first by this company. (Previously I had done Roliyfe and thought it was amazing). I won’t be buying from this brand again. The build was quick — did it in one long evening. But the quality just wasn’t there 1. Almost every piece that touched another piece required glue. Nothing just fit. You have to buy your own glue by the way, but you spend a lot of time holding poor-fitting pieces in place to make sure they dry at the right angle. 2. So. Much. Paper. Everything was paper and glue. 3. I used an exacto as they recommended to re-cut the precut balsamic board pieces and I still had somewhere between 5-10 break as I took them out. 4. There are several 3-D pieces you put together but they didn’t make sure to put paint/print on both sides of the pieces (see the attached telescope for example) so it looks half-finished. 5. I included a photo of printing errors — on at least one sheet all the printing was off, the pictures were super blurred, and I couldn’t read the numbers. 6. The build directions were clear enough, but there were a couple of errors and a couple steps that were just unnecessarily hard. 7. Just picked it up again to move and the bottom fell off. Again. Like I said, if you don’t glue it, it’s not even gonna pretend to stay together. All in all, it ended up cute, and anyone who didn’t put it together won’t notice the pieces that were broken or didn’t fit etc without a super close look. But the whole point of these for me is how meditative it is to put them together, but this one just pissed me off. ... show more

I love that the pieces dont have to snap in si tight that they break like another brand. That being said glue required with each step. This time i used craft glue which worked most of the time. It was less intricate than others having less pieces so assembly took less than two days. But no issues. More fun and less frustrating. ... show more
