I purchased the full seat post kit from Better Boat as well as this extra base plate. I installed this base plate further forward than the other one on the front deck. That way I can simply move the forward seat further forward if we have 3 people fishing in the boat. This plate is just as sturdy and easy to install as the original and now I have more seating options with the same seat and post. I am very happy they sell this separately. Great aluminum construction. The base works great, I wish it had mounting hardware. On their defense, they don't know what kind of subfloor it's going threw . But if you are any kind of handy man it is ease to install. Fair inexpensive, for a great base.
