I installed this quick-release seat mount on the front bench seat of my 1980s Blue Fin semi-V aluminum fishing boat, and it worked out great. The quick-release design is incredibly convenient — now I can easily pop the seat off when towing so I don’t have to worry about the wind spinning it around. Install was simple, and everything fit securely. The construction is solid overall. The frame is made from black powder-coated steel, and the clamping system uses rubber-coated steel clamps, not plastic like some listings mistakenly suggest. The platform that rests on the bench seat isn’t a full flat plate — it’s more like thick, heavy-duty plastic “legs” that the threaded rods pass through. These provide strong support while keeping things lightweight and corrosion resistant. I added a small piece of foam rubber underneath the plastic feet that rest on the aluminum bench to protect against scratching. Worked perfectly. One tip: To really lock everything down tight, I used my Gator Grip universal socket on the wing nuts. It made tightening way easier and avoided tearing up my hands. Tighten everything securely, and it stays rock solid — even when rotating the seat frequently. Adjustment is simple too. The mounting bracket easily fits bench seats from about 7.5” to 18” wide, giving it good flexibility if you ever swap boats or change seats. At $49.99, it’s a very good value for what you get. Well-built, quick to install, and extremely handy for removable seats. Highly recommend if you’re updating an older jon boat or semi-V like mine! Tight Lines! 🎣🛥️

I recently ordered this boat seat mount and I love it. It was super easy to install, and the swivel moves really smoothly. Initially, my rear seat was center mounted on my Lund fishing boat. It made it hard to steer the boat. Using this mount, I was able to offset the seat, and even move it if I wish. An added bonus is that it raises the seat several inches so my knees aren't as bent as they were before.

This is pretty beefy metal and awesome. So far so good. It fit easily and I have a heavy duty strap under the John Boat bench to cinch it down. I've only taken it out once so far and I'll say my rump and hips thank me for ordering this. It is much better than sitting on a low aluminum bench. It might not be the cheapest one out there, but a neighbor has one of these which is why I wanted one of these products. This one has thicker metal, so it should last longer.

I'm so happy with this product. Installation of everything, plus your seat is less than 5 minutes. The swivel turns smoothly and doesn't grind or sound harsh. The plastic bottom is very sturdy, and I actually prefer the plastic for weight reduction purposes. There is even brackets included in case you want to make this a permanent solution (although this is not mentioned anywhere on the product page or video.) My only small complaint, is that the product does not come with instructions, which only really matters if you haven't watched the instructional video at the top of the page. Just make sure you understand the easy step of pushing the swivel release at the front of the mount, as you might not have cell service while taking your boat out. Would definitely recommend.

The only hesitation is the plastic bottom. However, as you can see in the picture, this replaces a seat with less substantial plastic that last perfectly for 20+years. This product is on the right. On the left is the old one (bottom) and another choice that does not allow seat removal but is all metal with metal ball bearings. This uses wing nuts that turn when seated as in they did it right and allowed enough clearance to turn the wing nut while its on the seat. Not much clearance but enough. The plastic is substantial and looks like it will hold up well to weather. This one allows the seat the be easily removed for storage (transport or longer term), which is a huge plus over other ones including those in the picture.
