I am a fair skinned person and love to cycle long distances. My experience- 1) Initial impression- Bottle is small 2) Smell is not gross or chemical smelly 3) The product is white, white, white 4) When applying, do small areas at a time 5) After initial application, rub everything one last time to really melt the product into skin 6) Sweat mixed with product does not feel suffocating like other chemical based sunblock 7) Works for hours and hours. It is still slightly visible after showering even the next day! 8) I cant even feel the heat from the sun using this stuff. 9) Removal requires some effort with soap and water in the shower. 10) Does not create pimples, rash or irritation at all for me compared with everything else i have used. Summary- It is great and works better than all the products I have used. You name it I have tried it. For me, nothing compares to the feel, smell and results I get from this Blue Lizard Sensitive Sunscreen. With some application skill, you will be very happy not getting burned or hot from the sun. The product is like I mentioned. White, white, white. When applied, it is white and fades to white. Your skin tone will not be enhanced or beautified. It will be white-ish. In my now very experienced self, this coloration is the only negative. ALL other chemical based sunscreens smell, burn the eyes, permanently fade clothing, feel the heat from the sun and feel suffocating to the skin. This in not like them. It works so good, after cycling 4 hours in direct sunlight 2 times a week, I have no tan lines... That is some good sunblock. ... show more

Kifs usually don't listen to parents when you say need sunscreen. My kid saw how the bottle change the color under different sun situation and understand it now and apply when needed. Compared with other reflective type sunscreen, this one is very easy to spread out like a lotion. It doesn't seem to be required to apply repeatedly in water but all reflective type sunscreen does anyway. This is my second bottle and I highly recommend it. ... show more

I use Blue Lizard Sensitive Sunscreen on a daily basis. I absolutely love this stuff and have full confidence I'm being protected against UV radiation. Some may not like the fact that it takes a little effort to fully work it into the skin given that it leaves a white residue. But I think this is a good feature because it can show where you've missed spots. It's 100% mineral and it doesn't irritate my eyes. I trust this sunscreen completely. ... show more

My child has terrible skin allergies and eczema. The pediatric dermatologist says this is the ONLY sunblock that will work on our girl who suffered as a toddler. She was right!! Now she’s a four year old and her skin is clear and she can play in the sun safely because of Blue Lizard.

I have loved Blue Lizard for years now - ever since first reading about it in the EWG’s “Guide to Sunscreens.” I have fair European skin (several beauty marks) and Blue Lizard Sensitive (with thorough application and regular reapplication) keeps me from burning. Last August, I spent a week in Croatia, in the very intense sun, and thanks to Blue Lizard I never once burned. The mineral version does take a little extra effort to rub in, but it’s absolutely worth it! And because it initially goes on white, and then quickly fades as you rub it in, it’s harder for me to miss a spot. No real scent. (I’m very sensitive to strong smells).
