There are so many different versions of the Arizona Birkenstock I wasn't sure what would replace my 20+ year old ones and I got lucky! Fit is perfect, construction materials are just like my original ones from 45 years ago. Soft brushed suede straps, plenty of holes to tighten or loosen, perfect foot bed, not soft, but supportive and not like the originals, these do have some give and fit to your foot after a few hours. Just make sure to put them on correctly! Don't fasten the straps before putting them on. Out of the box, put your foot on the foot bed in a comfortable place (if they are too long or short send them back, you have the wrong size) and then fasten the straps to a comfortable hole. They will give slightly, but you don't want them tight ever. Color is interesting, neutral but not the standard beige I associate with the old original sandals that were difficult to even find in the US.

Birkenstock Arizona sandals have been my go to sandal for many years. I am 74 and have balance issues. I have had Birkenstock lookalikes as well as other sandals but for stability as well as ease of putting on and slipping off, nothing beats these. They also last practically forever.

The Birkenstocks are awesome. It's rare for me to find a shoe that is immediately comfortable. I ordered a size smaller than I usually do and it is perfect. When they stretch out, I'm going to have to punch in another hole to make them tighter but that's a small trade off for a really comfortable shoe.

Update: My original review was in 2016. At that time I ordered a 39 for myself. Then my son wanted a pair and his feet were slightly smaller than mine, so I bought him a 38. He grew out of them so I tried them on since they were barely worn, and I actually like the way the 38 fit better! My 39's suddenly seemed big and clunky. So I suppose it's how you want them to fit. As a women's 8.5-9 (but more often than not a 9), I prefer the 38's. The length is perfect, so I guess I prefer them more snug. The ones I received all 3 times were authentic, but I've had a few pair, so I know what to expect. If you don't, I would highly recommend purchasing directly from Birkenstock. If they weren't authentic, they were going right back. I ordered the exact same shoes, and have included the new and old in the pictures, as well as the box. My old ones are going strong except for the uneven wear on the sole. I love these shoes and live in them 16 hours a day! I ordered these in a 39. I am usually an 8.5 or a 9, and they fit perfectly. I listened to other reviewers that said they run a little big, and they do. Not much, but maybe a half size. They are very durable and comfy. Highly recommend!

Not sure if these are from Birkenstock but I have only had these a month and a half and part of the buckle broke. I reached out to birkenstock and they said they dont sell on amazon so I am writing this review because I have owned birkenstocks for years and this has never happened. Thats $130 down the drain.

I love these shoes, I have a higher then average arch but not considered 'high'. Birk's mold to my (your) feet and solve many feet and back problems that other shoes won't and the new soft sole is even better then before. I bought the Gray Velvet and love the color, I find Black is too dark, the gray is perfect I love these shoes, very happy to have a new pair, I wore my old ones everywhere and I'm sure these will walk a lot of miles too. Only problem with Birk's, try not to get them wet, they never feel the same, it's almost impossible though and pick up some cork sealer. And be careful sometimes especially the clogs, they can fly right off while walking, I don't know, know I tried and my toes never could grip and or socks didn't help. These Arizona's are perfect for now!
