Fit and feel of a Birkenstock, definitely the real thing. Definitely not tobacco in color. I received a suede Sand or Sandcastle color - still neutral so I can live with it but definitely not the color advertised.

    • Problems with Fit

These appeared to be genuine and I compared them and the box closely to other Arizona’s that I know are genuine, but they did not fit like my others. They were both slightly shorter in length and narrower than my other pair. It was immediately noticeable out of the box. The straps were also quite a bit shorter, which really wasn’t an issue, but odd. My other pair are unisex, as these say they are, and I compared both boxes and markings on the shoes closely. They they appear the same, but they were not the same size. Unfortunately, the size difference made them fit where my toes did not hit where the little groove thing is, and my toes were forced too far forward when I walked, making my arch also not correctly aligned, all of which defeats the purpose of Birkenstocks. Another strange thing was that they smelled very strongly of dye (I guess), which was smeared on the tissue in the box. Returned. ... show more

Personal this type of sandals I don’t like it but, it was for a gift to my daughter. She love them!! Still working until this day ( July 2022). I will recommend it and, it worth the money.

I'm size 8.5 and I got a 39 M and it fits wonderfully. Some things to know about Birks: USE THEIR SIZING GUIDE ON THEIR WEBSITE They are pretty spot on. M, N, W WIDTHS M is for "medium," which means the "regular" width. This is fine. If you have a normal foot it should fit. N is "narrow," which I would only suggest if you have abnormally narrow or very small feet. Birks are meant to spread your toes, which is why they seem wide at first. W will be for "wide," and this is only for extra wide feet (if you need to buy your shoes in wide sizes). BREAKING THEM IN They will NOT be comfortable the first few times. They're meant to form to your foot and help regain its natural shape. Stick with it. It is worth it. FOOT BEDS The regular footbed is easier to break in. The soft footbed is really not so different (just more cushion at first), and the foam will probably wear off with use so I'd suggest saving your pennies but it's just a matter of preference. These shoes are worth every dime--took me just a few days to break in and they are the most comfortable shoes I own. Love them!! ... show more

I haven’t worn the Arizona sandals in quite a few years and I’d forgotten the need for a break in period with the stiff leather. The second strap that goes near the ankle really was uncomfortable the first time or two or three that I wore them. I loosened the strap as much as possible so when my foot bent when walking, in wasn’t digging into my foot. I ordered the Tobacco oiled leather but these are quite dark - closer to the Habana oiled leather but I’m happy enough to keep them. Sometimes there is just a little difference in the color of the leather and I think that’s the case with this purchase. I do think the suede Arizonas as well as the nubuck, vegan pull-up and Birko-Flor have no break in required - they are comfortable out of the box but these will take some wearing before you get the Birkenstock happy face! ... show more
