    • This is a nice starter lathe for low budget. Beware the headstock thread is M33X3.5mm. NOT 1"-8 TPI!
The sub $200 price is why I got this. I wanted these for my grandkids. They work as expected. There is more aluminum/die cast alloy than I expected. The headstock, tailstock and banjo/rest are cheap castings. The headstock is not a standard thread. It is M33X3.5mm. There are adapters available. By the time you purchase this lathe, a chuck and adapter. You would be better off buying something else. It does work but is a disappoint. ... show more

    • The lathe needed to be "tuned up" and slightly readjusted.
The "tool-post" could NOT be adjusted to the proper level (below center). So I made a different one that allowed me to use the lathe. Also - The "talestock" and the "headstock" were not truly centered on each other. Damn good thing I know how to make things right.

    • Well made for the price but there is a problem with the spindle threads
Well made, affordable. As a novice in woodworking this unit is perfect for me as a beginner. I purchased a chuck and the threads on the spindle are not comparable. All the accessories are made with 8 tpi and this unit has a different thread size closer to 6 tpi or maybe metric size. What a bummer. Could not find an adapter to fit. ... show more
