The media could not be loaded. I bought these for the spare bedroom and love them. They were easy to install (and modify). I used a darker Jacoba Bean colored stain to finish them slightly darker. I also used a drop of hot glue to keep the flowers in the right place of the mason jar. The lights each take 3AA batteries which are not included.
