This paddle is just the right size (260 cm) for use in my solo canoe. The canoe has about a 29.5" maximum width and a gunnel width of 25.5" and a high, standard seat. It's not a pack canoe. I like wood because it has a bit of "give" or spring. You might argue that the spring equals loss of power but I'll contend that it's minimal. And wood paddles are easier on the shoulders due to the slight flex. ... show more

It's beautiful, light and makes paddling on wider, flat and/or windy stretches in my solo canoe so much easier than with either a kayak double-blade or one of my single blade paddles. Awesome paddle, been using it with my mad river 15 footer canoe. Taken down rivers and used on the lake, very light wieght paddle for hours. A must buy for solo canoe paddlers.

Just what I was looking for in a solo canoe paddle. I recently installed a center seat in my spirit 2 canoe and at 180 cm the paddle length is perfect. The width of the canoe at center is about 36" so a longer paddle to reach the water is necessary for solo paddling. Can't wait for spring to take it out. ... show more
