I ordered this to wear to our sons wedding and it’s a beautiful skirt! Very stretchy and so comfortable. For reference I am 49 years old, 5’ 4”, 188lbs. and I ordered an XXL. I didn’t want it real tight, I mean I was the 49 yr old mother of the groom but I could have worn a Large. If you want the true bodycon pencil skirt look then definitely size down. I used the belt that came with it in the last notch just to cinch the waist in but it still had a tendency to turn. The ruching that should sit on the hips would end up in the front and back. I found myself constantly fidgeting with it to make sure it was straight before pictures or my dance with my son. The belt is cute but it’s a flimsy cheap faux patent leather buckle and basic wide black elastic band. If you’re going to wear a blouse tucked in and a belt, buy a better belt. Even though it was to big I was still able to wear it because of the shape and contour of the skirt and overall it actually gave me a defined waist and accentuated my hips. It’s a nice deep grey color and the ruffled hem gives it a sophisticated style. I really liked this skirt and felt good wearing it. I don’t think you’ll regret the purchase. ... show more

This skirt is exactly what I needed!! I read the reviews and originally bought a 2xl, but so glad I disregarded the negative comments and canceled my order in exchange for my usual size large. Let me tell you I'm relieved that it fit perfectly, it is actually very stretchy. I could've possibly purchased a medium that's how stretchy it is!! I am 5'4, 145 lbs with a 33in waist. With hip padding it made the large fit nice and snug, without the padding I could probably use a medium. This is the first skirt that I purchased from Belle Poque and I love it! I'm 6'2" tall and 185 lbs., and went with the XL, somewhat following the info of some other reviews and it fits me just the way I want it to- so I say it's true to size! The black belt that it comes with is nice and stretchy, too- I love it! I love this skirt so much that I bought it in another color! It highlights curves in a way that's flattering but not work inappropriate. It matches with lots of different cuts if shirts, from sheerer looser cut blouses to turtle necks. The fabric is pretty easy care (in the green shirt picture I had ironed it, in the red shirt picture I had just pulled it out of the dryer). Stretchy material that helps it move with you. I have a large and it fit pretty well. I did find that with my body shape, the skirt did ride up a little in the front so I was pulling it down but it gave it a high low look which was nice. I am 5'6 and approx 168 lbs.

This skirt was quite fitting, luckily it stretches to really hug the curves. I'm 5'6" 120lbs and usually wear small, extra small, 0-4; I bought a small and am glad I did. An XS would not have fit over my hips or zipped, and an M probably wouldn't have hugged the curves enough. I got several compliments on this skirt the first day I wore it, usually I don't get this many compliments unless I'm wearing higher end clothing, like WHBM. I like to keep my clothes for a long time. I'm not sure that this will last a couple decades as it was not expensive and probably not made or designed for that; though it is not lined, it is pretty well constructed so I'm hopeful.
