  • Photochromic visor for the win!
Size: Large Color: 2021 Rally Matte Black/White
I purchased this helmet for two reasons; the photochromic (transitions) visor and the MIPS (Multidirectional Impact Protection System). I don't know why more helmet manufacturers haven't gone to photochromic visors. They eliminate the need for wearing sunglasses in the helmet, or monkeying around with flip-down internal sunshades in the helmet. It should be noted that of the two helmets I've owned that had internal flip-down sun screens, both of them severely interfered with the TFT (Thin Film Transistor) instrument display on my motorcycle. The polarization of the sun screens rendered the TFT completely unviewable (it made the instruments look like a screen of hazy rainbow-colored hues). I thought I was catching a "freebee" from the 70's. This is not the case with the visor on this helmet. The view of my TFT instruments is crystal clear regardless of the hue of the visor. This is also very helpful to me as my morning commute occurs before sunrise, and the afternoon commute home happens in broad daylight. MIPS technology is just a good idea all around. It mimics the brain housing group's methods of protecting the brain in an impact, only instead of having a layer of fluid between the brain and skull that allows them to move independently (as in the brain housing group), the helmet shell and interior padding move independently of each other during an impact. I've never suffered a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury), and I never want to start. MIPS is a hedge against such an event. ... show more

  • Very noisy inside
I liked that the face shield. Gets tinted and clear. The helmet looks awesome. But it does have a lot of wind noise. I close all the vents and I still feel wind on my face. Update: Also the shield doesn’t stay closed at speeds higher then 50mph. It blows wide open every time. Bell sent me new hardware and screen to fix it. It never changed anything. Has no way to lock down. Waste of 300 dollars if it has a defect that can hurt you. ... show more

  • Bell needs to do someething about the rattling vents
Just had it a short time, but this helmet suffers the same problem that my last Bell helmet had. One of the top vents rattles constantly and loudly. After a few bug strikes, the vent on the previous helmet "gummed up" enough that the rattling stopped. Not sure I could wait that long on this one, so added a piece of electrical tape to stop the rattle. Size wise, I went up a size from the last one as the last one pinched my ears after a long ride. Haven't had a chance for a long ride yet (Minnesota "spring") but seems more comfortable. Have not had any problem with wearing my glasses inside the helmet. ... show more

  • Great helmet.
I used to have a Bell Moto IV years ago. I liked it so when I was looking for a new helmet I checked into Bell again. I'm glad I did. The fit on this is really good. My head is really big. (7 7/8) I have a very narrow (side to side) head. And my head is very long (front to back). It's not easy for me to find helmets that fit well. This is pretty comfortable. The visibility is very good. The airflow is outstanding. We've already had 100 degree (39C) weather here in So California, it has been comfortable in spite of the heat. It's fairly quiet with the chin curtain in place. I've been riding without it, it's a bit warmer with it in. It's a bit louder without it but still not bad. I like this helmet. ... show more

  • Great helmet, even better design and features
First off let me start by saying the picture of the helmet isn't accurate, the "tongue" in the pic is now all blacked out. At first I did not want to purchase cause of the red "tongue" but after seeing others pics Bell blacked out this area. The helmet comfortable for me and the noise is ok, I usually ride with earbuds or don't really pay attention to it. Very versatile shield as it can self tint when in the sun, or become clear at night or in low light situations. Would definitely order again. ... show more

  • Love the helmet. Could use some minor improvements.
Size: X-Large Color: Devil May Care 2020 Matte Gray
I absolutely love this helmet. Looks amazing and is very comfortable. The only complaint I have is that I wish the shield would darken just a little bit more. Riding into the sunrise or sunset is still really bright. Leaving a gap in the padding to wear sunglasses would have worked too. It also would have been nice if the first detent for the visor would have been half the opening from where it is. I’ve had decent size bugs almost hit me in the eye. Besides those 2 complaints, I love the helmet. ... show more

  • Lightweight and Snug yet comfortable
My First decent helmet purchase. This thing is awesome. The transitions shield is great, it darkens within seconds and goes back to clear only slightly slower. Airflow is perfect and it is nice and quiet at the same time. This helmet is lightweight and snug fit. I might recommend sizing up. I was between small and medium ordered a medium and it is pretty snug (almost too much). ... show more

  • Very pleased!
My first motorcycle helmet in 30 years as I started riding again... and i’m VERY PLEASED! The photochromatic visor is fantastic, from dark tunnels to pure bright sunshine, vastly prefer it to sunglasses! Hopefully never have to test the MIPS feature, but nice to know it’s there. Venting is adequate for hot days when riding, but you cook at a stoplight unless you open the shield... pretty typical. I find the aerodynamics to be non fatiguing at highway speed... I’m happy! ... show more
