Description

From the roughest singletrack to urban blacktop, the MX-9 Adventure Mips gets you there safely in style. We've taken our MX-9 and added even more capability with an integrated anti-fog, anti-scratch clear faceshield. The shield flips up and leaves enough room for goggles in extreme conditions, or it can be removed completely. Conversely, the adjustable visor can be removed for a stealth street look. Mips protection, Velocity Flow ventilation, and a removable, washable liner round out a highly adaptable package. The Marauder Blackout colorway ships with a second dark smoke shield. DOT (US) and ECE (EU) Certified. The helmet meets Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 218 (FMVSS 218).

  • Great for what it is.
Color: Matte Black (Discontinued) Size: Medium (57-58 cm)
I love the fit of this helmet there’s tons of room cut out so your ears aren’t pinned uncomfortably. The faux suede liner is very nice. it’s a noisy helmet. i came from a simpson i expected to hear more but… wow. air flow is exceptional field of view is gigantic lens fogs up in colder temps, which can be addressed with sprays and what not, but it’s a very fog prone lens and difficult to clear it by opening the vents alone. I’ve found i have to open the shield and ride for some time to clear any fog. ... show more

  • Really Nice Adventure Helmet But Not Perfect
Color: Marauder Matte/Gloss Black Size: X-Large
I bought this helmet to use with my Kawasaki KRX 1000, specifically to reduce engine and road noise and of course to provide protection in the event of an accident. The helmet seems to fit OK but I've worn more comfortable helmets before. That being said, it hasn't created any 'hot spots' on my head when worn for several hours at a time. Still, it does pinch my cheeks a bit more than I would prefer. And getting my glasses on after I put on the helmet is really hard. There are these little gaps in the padding that look like they are there to accommodate eye glasses, but they are placed too high for me and I have to really wrestle with my glasses to get them in the correct position. That was almost a deal breaker for me but I've just accepted that I'm probably going to break my glasses while muscling them into position someday. The MIPS system isn't even noticeable to me, so that's good. It provides extra protection but doesn't make the helmet less comfortable. The chin strap is pretty industry standard these days. The helmet did come with BOTH a clear and a tinted visor so that was super-cool! The brim on the helmet is a bit too high for my taste and only serves as an air brake and has little effect actually blocking out the sun. If it could be adjusted a bit lower it would be far more useful. And, as I mentioned already, the padding along the cheeks is a bit thick right now. Maybe it will compress a little with use and be more comfortable...kind of like a pair of shoes is more comfortable after they've been worn and broken in. The helmet is a decent helmet but not perfect, so it gets 4 stars from me. I'm used to Shoei helmets and have only worn them in the past, so this purchase was me venturing out of my comfort zone, but I just couldn't see paying $500+ for a Shoei helmet that I would only occasionally wear. I'm going to switch to goggles and hearing protection for normal riding and only break out the helmet when I play hard. I'd say the size is just about what you should expect. It is comparable to the same size in a Shoei helmet. Ultimately I would recommend this helmet to those who are looking for a decent adventure helmet. It's worth the money and I think most people will be happy with it. ... show more

  • Tough to beat
Color: Gloss White Size: Large (59-60 cm)
The media could not be loaded. Let me preface this with, I tried on 4-5 of the top rated helmets side by side with the Bell MX9 Adv, including the Klim Krios Pro, Shoei Hornet X2, and Arai XD4. The Arai and Klim were the first to go, due to their overall fit and function along with the price tag. Hard to justify 2-3x the cost of the bell when they aren’t even as comfortable out of the box. I quickly narrowed it down to the Shoei Hornet X2 and the Bell MX9. They fit very similarly, with the Shoei edging it out with its overall craftsmanship and quality. It truly is a work of art - but it also exceeded my needs for a dual sport helmet. For twice the cost, I made the tough decision to send it back. The bell shared so many features in terms of fit, comfort, and safety that based on craftsmanship alone, it was tough to spend the extra money. I don’t do a lot of road miles except to connect trails, and get from a to b. If I did longer highway miles, I definitely would have gone with the SNELL rated Shoei. However, the MIPS system is a great feature, and the MX9 is comfortable on the road and on the trail. I really appreciate the adaptability of a comms system like my Cardo Black. The cheek pads have integrated pouches for the headphone pieces, while the breath box leaves ample room for the microphone. The lining is super plush and comfortable, and proves to be a bit warm on longer rides, but cracking the shield every now and then helps dump the heat. The ventilation is good, albeit not as good as the other 3 helmets I listed above. The visor does catch a draft, but every helmet with a visor will. On trips where I’m spending minimal amounts of time on pavement I have a full MX helmet on, so I’m used to this and it doesn’t bother me. Overall this helmet is the best bang for the buck you can find. The additional face shields available are a great bonus. I have both the gold iridium (pictured) and dark smoke. Would suggest without hesitation to anybody looking for a solid dual sport helmet that checks all the boxes. ... show more
