I love this box from the product images and what others posted. However, I loved it more in person. I took off one star because the large size is still relatively small and barely fits my tv remote (I got the box specifically to store my tv remote in a stylish way). I wouldn’t return it though because the price is good. I may just need to get the XL too! Update 5/27/23 - I received the XL size today and it’s perfect! At this price point, I did not have high expectations. I honestly expected it to be veneer. But as you can see in my pics its solid burl. The only side that is not solid burl is the bottom where a straight grain board is used. The top of the box has a slight bevel which i hard to see from my pics. Look at the caliper shot and see how thick these burl walls are. This box is impeccably constructed. The quality of the burls is first rate. I even think that the wood has been stabilized, (based on the weight of the box). Yet another unexpected and HUGE plus, as the whirlier and more interesting the burl, the weaker it is, stabilization is expensive, Im going to order a couple more as business gifts, as these are one of a kind exhibition / heirloom grade boxes. Let me also make one more recommendation, I would suggest the designs without heavy inlay. You can put inlays on anything, they are a nice way to jazz up a plain design, but now that i know the quality of the craftsmanship and the materials used, im glad I did order one of the busy designs, it would have detracted from aesthetics. To place my rave review in proper context, consider that I just checked my amazon account and shockingly I placed 132 orders in the last year, and I cannot recall the last time I wrote a review of anything. ... show more
