Grab a deadblow hammer, 12mm socket, short extention, a medium pry bar, some loctite 242, and a can of wd40. After removing the drum and flange bolts, apply wd40 to the backing plate where the hub protrudes through the back side. Brace the brake shoes and tap the inner part of the hub outward just enough to get the pry bar between the hub flange and the backing plate. Dont try to pry it out, just get it in between and twist. It'll pop right out. From lug nuts off to lug nuts back on takes about 25 minutes per side. ... show more

    • Good fit, quiet, and fitment is OE-spec
Super easy install on a 2004 Toyota Corolla, no fitment issues and the metalwork looks solid. The swap is dead-simple: remove the wheel, unscrew the four bolts holding the old hub assembly on the backside of the drum, add some grease to the hub to mitigate squeaks, slot the new one in, torque to spec, and put the wheel back on. This was done on a 2004 Corolla LE with around 260k miles, job takes maybe an hour or two tops. ... show more
