  • Not bad nor great.
Color: Black
For the price they win in every category, however they just don't compete nowadays. The audio without a syth or software is flat, but I cannot complain about the noise cancelling or build quality at all. Will update if anything major happens.

  • Great Affordable Monitors
Color: White
The name of the game with these headphones is comfort. I bought them to use with my electric piano which I can play at for many hours so I needed something comfortable. The PRO5X's were just right for that. The comfort is amazing. There is virtually no pressure on your head and after a little while you forget that they're even on. They are also very light which means that you'll almost never get fatigued while wearing them. They are over ear so they have quite decent passive sound isolation but not nearly as good as something with active cancellation. In my opinion, the lack of noise cancellation is actually a good thing for long sessions because as someone who owns the Bose QC35s I can say that the active isolation can become uncomfortable for a while. I guess the best way I can describe the comfort is airy or cloudy which is really awesome! The Pro5Xs are very light but don't let that fool you, they sound really good. I have many pairs of headphones and these may be my favorites. They have a nice and wide frequency response which I could get below 30 Hz on my phone meaning that they could get closer to the advertised 5 Hz with a decent amp. Like I said, I use them with my piano and I actually prefer the sound that the Pro5Xs produce than the internal speakers which was surprising. The sound isn't super bass heavy (although there is respectable bass) but they are just nice and clear all the way throughout which is perfect for studio monitoring or for a DJ. Overall these headphones are amazing for the price and would be great for anything from music production to even gaming on a budget. ... show more

  • Really good for the money
Color: Black
I bought these headphones to see how they compared to my ATH-Pro500 [discontinued] cans, so this is my out of the box review. I also own own a pair of ATH-m50x headphones that I use in my studio from time to time. The Pro500's are great DJ headphones, but lean heavy on the low end [which is great for loud and bass heavy environments]. The m50x's are great balanced headphones, but don't have a heavy enough bottom end, so they won't work in the clubs, but are great for general listening. After listening to the PRO5's for an hour, I'm noticing that sound wise, they fall somewhere in the middle between the previously mentioned cans. The highs and mids are very present-yet not screechy, even at higher volumes. The bass isn't as rich as I would like, but it's there for sure. It's a lot more subtle than the Beats Studio 3's, but far from missing. I have a Dolby Atmos add-on for headphones with my PC, and I have to say that the PRO5's take full advantage of the separation. I can crank the volume respectfully without feeling like my ears are getting beaten to bits. I have a feeling that once these cans loosen up a bit that things will continue to get better. Super clean, very physically comfortable compared to the PRO500's, excellent option for the price point, and a welcome addition to my arsenal. They aren't perfect, but they are worlds away from terrible. I'll leave another review in a few months after they get more use. ... show more

  • Great headphones!
Color: White
I got theses to replace some Pioneer HDJ headphones - I believe the HDJ 1500's- that I used for like 5 years. . I've now used them at 2 gigs and for regular music listening - and they are good. The noise cancellation is not as good as my HDJ 1500's - but I did buy a set of over the ear pads upon first getting those. The music in the Audio -Technica's sound great. Just a really good crisp sound. The bass is there - but not overwhelming - mids and highs are there too, balanced nicely. Really just a good set of headphones. I wish they had come with a carry case or bag - but regardless I would buy these again. I received the all white version (not sure if another exists) and it came with two cord styles - one straight wire for like an iphone/samsung and a coiled wire for things like DJing. If these are being considered by you - you wont be upset. Build quality - first thing I think of is ...light and solid....if that makes any sense. It's a good thing. ... show more

  • Great for transcriptionists
Color: Black
I'm a transcriptionist so did not want noise-canceling or a microphone and wanted them wired. These are excellent headphones that fit the bill for me! The ear part is snug enough to drown out outside noises but yet comfortable to wear for hours a day. The cord disconnects from the headset if you want to. It's a pretty long cord too. As far as sound quality, I can discern easily who is talking and even hear them whispering. I'm very happy with these headphones! ... show more

  • Amazing headphones for the price
Color: White
This pair of headphones not only feel incredibly comfortable, but they sound great. The spiral cord it comes with is great for using with a PC as it is probably somewhere near 15 feet long when completely pulled out, so you have plenty of room to move around with ease. The sound quality is crisp and clear, no crackling, however my only complaint would be that in songs that have more.. chimes? imagine fairy dust sound effects, that kind of stuff, you don't want the volume to be too loud with those more sensitive noises as they're just painful to the ear. The bass is decent, nothing insane but there's definitely something there. For the price, the quality is great. ... show more

  • Solid and light. Good for the price if money's tight. If you don't like black, they have white.
Color: White
Compared to Seinheiser, Shure, and other AudioTechnica brands in the same price bracket, I enjoy these the most. They are very light but solid. The cable is detachable and thick. They don't cause any discomfort in my 5+ hours at a time wearing them. Sound quality is exactly what you get from $50 Audiotechnicas. It's good. I paired mine with a USB DAC for a little more umph at my computer. For a self-labeled audiophile that can never afford $1,000+ audiophile equipment, these will do great. ... show more

The value, these were like %40 cheaper than the black model. Obviously the color just wasn't selling so as nother WIN for WHITEY. and by white I mean cuz the headphones were white in color.
