This is a good way to add some seats to a small boat. Installation can be a little tricky if you're trying to tighten the wing nuts by hand or with pliers. I made a tool by cutting a slot in a piece of 3/4" PVC pipe. It fits right onto the wing nuts and makes installation/removal a lot easier. I found that the mount clamped down tightly enough, but just for an added safety measure I ran a nylon strap through the bracket and under the seats. ... show more

Very pleased, had to make a simple PVC tool to tighten the wingnut's well. They work as described without drilling holes in the bench, very helpful. It would be awesome if the manufacturer would make one that expands a few more inches for the rear bench! Very nice though, worth the money! MK

It's a sturdy metal base, but it doesn't clamp down on the boat seat adequately. So if you lean back in the seat, it can come loose causing you to fall backwards. I'm having to attach brackets to the front and back of the seat for the clamps to slide over so they can't slide up and come loose when tightened.
