This works well when you tighten the wing nuts but they are very hard to get to once the seat is installed. It would be nice if the manufacturer built a special wrench for these wing nuts. I ended up making one.

Work really good. I have a Coleman crawdad with plastic seats. I thought these would hold better than the kind that just bolt to the plastic... One tip I took a deep well socket and cut a slot in each side so I could tighten up the wing nuts with my impact driver. There's no way to get your fingers underneath of there with the seat installed ... show more

When I first mounted by seats to my 14 Lund, my wife leaned backwards and tipped over. I couldn’t tighten wing nuts tight enough. My solution was to use 2 safety nuts and use socket wrench to tighten. I had to cut metal rods shorter to use a deep socket. Works perfectly .To remove seat just loosen two nuts with deep socket . ... show more

Love the idea of this product, but after installing it, screwing the wingnut hand screws as tight as possible, and then falling over backwards while driving my boat slowly with a trolling motor, and nearly falling out of my boat, am very disappointed. Unfortunately, this is the only product that does what I need, which is to attach a seat to my solid metal bench in my Jon boat, so I won't be returning, since I didn't see a competitive product to replace this with. I was also very disappointed that it came with no screws or bolts to attach a seat when I opened the box. Fortunately, my seat came with that hardware. I may try adding some type of rubber mat or shelf-liner to the bottom to give it more "sticking power" but I am doubtful that will do much. If you get this, plan on sitting up straight and not leaning back on your seat (which will get old and tiresome quickly). It is also difficult to tighten the wingnuts since they are awkwardly near the bottom of the seat mount (and under the seat you attach). ... show more
