Many kids love to examine the roles & careers of adults around them (including medical personnel, police, firemen, construction worker, teacher, businessman, chefs & just everyday people in their neighborhoods). This set of 36 wooden Community Helpers is a great one for them to add to their toy collection. These blocks would be a fabulous addition to a wooden train set or magnetic blocks. They are fabricated of wood, nicely finished with round edges and bright coloring. There's nothing tech-related about this set at all. The pieces are generally about 2.5" x 1.5" x .5" in size. Besides the people, the set includes the facades of various buildings as well as common items such as trees. The set comes in a nicely decorated (giftable) box that explains in a glance what it holds. I have worked with pre-K kids in the past and am convinced kids those ages would be delighted to add these blocks to their sets. The price is great for such a well-made set. Highly recommend!

These figures are thick and sturdy. I like that the back of each figure is painted with their backs. I did take off one star because I think there could have been a base so that they stand up better on carpet but overall they are a good product.

We have a similar set of wooden figures like these of a popular cartoon set of characters. They get played with all the time. This set has a lot more figures and several public buildings. They have a great representation of people who help us every day and we see all over the community. Our granddaughter immediately grabbed them and started laying them out to see what all was in the set. She carried them around the house all evening. She's 14 months old but she kept bringing the Grandfather figure to me and handing it to me - she knew what it represented. We told her one was a teacher and she took it over to her Mom who is a teacher. I think over time she will learn a lot about who helps us every day. To me, this set is super inexpensive for the value you get. We recommend it!
