Description
The next evolution in composite snowshoe technology has arrived. The Helium- MTN is an ultralight, uber versatile all-mountain snowshoe that brings the tech, but not the weight. It features the new Wrapp MTN binding which integrates the BOA Fit System to provide a fast, effortless, precision fit every time. The serrated teeth of the anodized aluminum traction rails provide excellent grip in varying terrain and snow conditions while the aggressive MTN crampon with an aft tang creates 360° engagement around the foot. Incredibly light!

I finally decided to commit to getting a good pair of snow shoes. I demo'd several pairs (Tubbs, Crescent Moon and Atlas) before I committed to these. They showed up and the first thing I noticed was how incredibly light these are. I was skeptical of the plastic bed, but after 3 hikes ( 1 of each: groomed trail, icy conditions and backcountry, both flat and mountainous terrain) I am convinced that these are great snowshoes. The boa system is really nice (so is atlas's webbing binding on other shoes). One of the key reasons I chose these over others was the lack of hot spot on my foot. Other snowshoes needed multiple adjustments or made a portion of my foot sore after a few hours. Other than having to readjust 1 time on my first hike, I haven't had any of these issues. The heel lift was amazing on long uphills too. I was surprised at how much easier it made my climbs. I believe that these are a phenomenal shoe at a very reasonable price point. For reference: I am a female, 5'9", women's size 9 (mens's 7, EU 41) shoe, weigh 168 lbs and tend to carry a 20-30 lb pack. I purchased the 26 inch shoe to ensure it could support the weight.

Snowshoes

Well. I used them yesterday Sunday 1/8/22, at Stratton Mountain in Stratton, Vermont. They are good and not good at the same time. What do I mean by that ? It takes a while to put them, If I`m sitting on my knees. The front of the bindings doesn`t closed all the way on the front of my boots. Maybe the toe of my boots are a bit too wide, I don`t know. And they come off my foot or both feet when I don`t take them off. Well I can`t blame Amazon for this faulty workmanship. I can only blame Atlas Snowshoe Company for this faulty craftsmanship.

Very poorly made
Size: 30
Horrible quality. Both shoes broke within the first couple weeks of owning them. I’m a sugarmaker and wear snowshoes daily during the early spring. These are lightweight and made of flimsy plastic that tears away from the base very quickly. Bottom line is they’re just not well made. Atlas quality has gone down hill considerably. I made sure to buy larger shoes that are designed to handle a 200 lb person and have aggressive slates to handle slopes. These were rated for much more than that and still fell apart almost immediately. Look somewhere else for snowshoes. They are not worth the $169 they cost, $50 maybe.

Quality build, easy on/off

Nice and lightweight. Easy on and off with BOA system. The quality of the build is excellent. I like the one piece frame as opposed to the trampoline style with rivets holding to an aluminum rail. Highly recommend.

Lightweight but sturdy

This is my third set of Atlas snowshoes --and undoubtedly the best. The Boa fasteners make them easy to put on and take off. And a tough plastic alloy has replaced the aluminum and fabric that used to frame the shoes. I use these every day during the season (December to March) to hike in the woods surrounding my home in the mountains. You can pay less if are only a a weekend user -- but if you are out everyday you need something both stronger and lighter. This Atlas fits those requirements.

Could be awesome, but design has durability issues.

Many things I loved about them but both tails broke away from the aluminum frame. Great bindings, BOA system is awesome. Love the weight, felt superlight on your feet and when attached to your backpack. Super cool looking design and colors, but unfortunately on my second hike in the White Mountains, NH the snow conditions killed them. It was a refrozen crust covering a dry powdery base, so I think the constant stress of punching through the crusted surface cause the mounting points to fail. Hopefully Atlas can fix this design issue, because I really want another pair. I was able to exchange them, but had to go with something more durable, and at least a pound heavier.
