    • Functional Decent Alternative to MSR's Bag

I ordered this bag (in small) because the 25" MSR Snowshoe Tote bag (not the backpack) was out of stock at the time as has often been the case. It essentially has the same footprint as the MSR bag but it is another 1-2" taller, has an additional pocket on the face and has two adjustable backpack straps rather than the 1 for MSR. Note the extra volume is great if you want to put more stuff in it but it doesn't hold the snowshoes as tight if you are just using it for bare snowshoes. Both fit the MSR 22" snowshoes well and while I haven't tried 25" snowshoes, it would appear to be possible but pretty snug. Both have a drying vent for the bag and hiking pole attachments and are within a few $ of the same price. The reason for not giving this 5-stars is that the fabric and handle are not as heavy duty as the MSR bag. This bag should provide years of normal use with personal handling. If you are turning your snowshoes in a bag over to luggage handlers pitching stuff into a pile in the back of a van, you would be better off waiting for the MSR. Also note that not even the MSR will hold up to the unprotected serrated edges of snowshoes like the MSR Lightning Ascent. For both this bag and the MSR bag, I edged my snowshoes with Seal Rubber 1/2" U-Channel EPDM Edge fitting up to a 2mm wide edge (on Amazon). I also put a cut to size rubber liner in the bottom of the bag and between the snowshoes - it was a DOBTIM Neoprene Rubber Sheet Roll 1/16 (.062)" Thick X 12" Wide X 5' Long on Amazon. ... show more

I wanted a bag for my scuba fins, boots, mask, & snorkel. I have Tusa Solla fins that have a 20 degree curve and are about 25" long. I wanted something I could put them in in opposite directions to minimize the depth. I came across this snowshoe bag and the size was perfect. This bag easily fits my fins, fin boots, mask in the box, and snorkel. I also folded a dry full wetsuit and had it in the bag (I didn't put it back in wet). The bag has a mesh opening for ventilation and a drain hole on the bottom. The large outside zipper it nice and fit my log book. Its a little tight because the majority of the pocket is narrow due to the mesh vent, but the bottom of the pocket opens up more. The top pocket is small, but fits my Iphone SE 2nd gen. The backpack style straps make it easy to carry. Only downsides I can say are the adjustment buckles on the backpack straps move easily, so you have to adjust them every so often. Also the grommet for the drain hole rusts quickly with salt water (it wasn't meant for salt water so that is on me). I purchased this storage bag for my snowshoes. I liked the fact that the bag had zipper pouch that I could use for extra hats and gloves. It has straps so that you can carry it on the trail like a backpack but it's not real comfortable. Fortunately, I did not plan to use this feature regularly.

I bought two bags, one for my wife's Tubbs snowshoes and one for my TSL Symbioz Hyperflex Adjust snowshoe. The snowshoes fit in perfectly. The extra storage pocket, pole attachment straps and back straps make these the perfect snowshoe bag.
