i have had 2 phones that got dropped and cracked the screen after a year ,they gave me a refund on the phones unfortunately it was in the form of a amazon gift cards and in order to transfer everything i had to buy new phones before i got the refunds.

Asurion is one of the WORST customer service teams I have EVER dealt with. First of all, if your phone breaks and you just want a screen repair, you will likely have to call/chat with a representative & fight them to get them to actually agree to a repair. Asurion's uBreakiFix is 5 minutes from my house and instead of letting me take it there and get a screen same day, they wanted me to ship it out to them so they could send me an Amazon card for purchase price instead. Had to fight with them to actually repair it because I had data on it I did not want to just throw away. Finally got a rep to aggree to let me use uBreak, still charged me the $80 for a "replacement" fee and uBreak charged me $345 for my screen replacement which then took Asurion 2 MONTHS to refund me for. Tried a second claim and told the rep I was VERY unsatisfied with my last claim and he assured me he would get this one right for me. He said I was able to to the same thing, go to uBreak and get reimbursement afterwards. I go to uBreak, wait in line for nearly 2 hours, and the worker there tells me that it is in fact NOT a repair and that he had scheduled it as a buyout anyway. So now I have no phone and am forced to wait God knows how long for the reimbursement for it, which wont even be cash it will be an Amazon gift card. Horrible customer service, horrible process, & uBreak stores are slow & WAY overcharge. Would not recommend this to ANYONE. Update: FINALLY received reimbursement after dropping off the phone in question at uBreakiFix for the "buyout", 5 more "live chat" conversations and 3 seperate 1 hour phone calls. This process took nearly 3 months from start to finish. Unacceptable.

I've never to my knowledge had an insured mobile phone. I do now!!! This may be the last phone of my lifetime.

The phone itself was great, especially refurbished. However, I strongly warn Amazon customers not to buy the Asurion insurance. I paid for the monthly protection, and when I finally needed a cracked screen repaired, Asurion told me I had to mail in my phone and be without it for 7–10 days, plus shipping time. I explained that I use my phone for both personal and business purposes and couldn’t be without it for half a month. I asked if there was any local repair option, even in nearby metro areas, and they said no. My son had the same issue, so we both canceled. I tried to get a refund for the months of payments, but Amazon could only offer a small credit. Amazon has always been great, but I really wish they would stop promoting Asurion

This is at least the fourth time I have purchased one of these warranties. I made a claim with my first product and they came through with no hassle to provide payment to resolve the issue. I always get their warranty on my phones now.

I purchased Asurion protection through Amazon for my refurbished iPhone, which I purchased through Amazon as well. Without getting into the weeds, I will just say the claims process for me was frustrating, unclear, inconsistent and unsatisfactory. Though the customer support reps were friendly, they were also victims to the poor system and organization. Perhaps the experience wasn't very seamless because I bought the plan through Amazon instead of direct. They have some kinks to work out, for now, I'll be cancelling.

5 weeks later: We have now been refunded for the purchase price of the phone, as such I am raising the rating to 2 stars. The experience of interacting with Asurion, however, was so horrendously unpleasant that I will never use there warranties again. ~ Asurion website is not functional for submitting claims ~ Have to call Asurion to file a claim, they charge $36 to file the claim ~ Asurion "UbreakIFix" store broke the phone further ~ Had to take the phone to another "UbreakIFix" store ~ probably a total of 10 phone calls with Asurion, all highly unpleasant -------------------------------------------------- TERRIBLE Wants me to send my phone in for repairs with an unspecified repair time. No replacement phone $125 down the drain Wanted to charge me a $39 fee UPDATE: Went to the repair store in another state(Nothing available where I live). The store did NOT honor the Asurion warrenty.
