⚠️ Scam Notice: Asurion Protection / Asurion Mobile Subscription Plan (200–249.99 devices) ⚠️ Price Advertised: $3.49/month (billed for 36 months) Coverage Promised: Drops, spills, cracked screens from day one; malfunctions after manufacturer’s warranty; 24/7 tech support; claims processed quickly; replacements or reimbursement if repair not possible. 🚩 What They Claim Plan begins the day you buy it. You can cancel anytime, but otherwise you’re billed monthly for 36 months. Coverage supposedly runs the full length of billing, unless canceled or aggregate limit is met. Easy claims process, with promises of repair, replacement, or reimbursement. 🚩 What Actually Happened A representative admitted coverage only lasts two months for the phone itself. After those two months, you’re still charged monthly — but not actually covered. They refused reimbursement for the months charged without coverage. They tried to shift responsibility back to the phone manufacturer. Nowhere in the Terms & Conditions or product description is this “2-month coverage limit” disclosed. 🚩 Why This Is a Scam You are billed for 36 months, but real coverage for the phone ends after 2 months. Paying for a service you don’t receive is fraudulent billing. The lack of disclosure about the 2-month cutoff is false advertising and consumer deception. The company denies refunds, trapping customers into paying for months (or years) of nonexistent coverage. ❗ Consumer Warning If you are considering the Asurion Protection Plan (200–249.99 / $3.49/month): Be aware that the coverage advertised does not match the coverage delivered. File a complaint with your state’s Attorney General, the FTC, or the BBB. Contact your credit card or bank and consider disputing charges under “services not rendered.” Document all calls, emails, and billing records in case of further disputes. Bottom line: This plan is misleading, charges you for coverage you don’t get, and refuses refunds. Avoid it, and warn others.

If an item I purchase on Amazon has an Asurion plan I ALWAYS purchase them! It's the best way to protect your item! I highly recommend them!

I had gotten this for a renewed Samsung Galaxy S9 phone that was supposed to be a Mother's Day gift. The phone turned out to be defective out of the box (blue screen error "An error has occurred while updating the device software..."). I had to return the phone for a refund. However, there was no visible way of returning this item in the orders page unlike for physical items that are sold. I soon realized that this being a "digital subscription", it might be possible to manage it under "Memberships and Subscriptions". I clicked on the tab "Accounts & Lists" on the upper right hand corner of the Amazon web page. In the column "Your Account" are several different choices. Click on the one that says "Memberships & Subscriptions". Sure enough, there it was. I clicked on the subscription that said "Asurion Mobile Subscription Plan, 200-249.99". I then clicked "Cancel Subscription". Now I will watch the credit card associated with this purchase to see if they continue to charge me money every month. Making it difficult to return an item is not only anti-consumer. It is also greedy and unethical. This is a business practice attempting to force consumers to pay for a service that they neither need nor can benefit from resulting in pure profits for Asurion. I will never subscribe to an Asurion Mobile Subscription Plan ever again. Shame on Asurion.

My daughter's phone had a cracked screen. They would only cover the screen if the back wasn't broken. Her's had a small crack so I would either have to pay $200 plus to fix the back screen or $69 plus tax for a replacement phone. I chose replacement. Ubreakibuyit by asurion bought the phone out and they sent an amazon gift card to replace her phone within an hour. I'm thankful we had protection. It is alot of fine print but you need to ask questions in order to know what will work best for you.

I SHOLUD HAVE READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE BUYING. The review summaries starts with "some people call it a scam." I forgot I had two plans, on two different phones. Amazon has been quietly billing me a monthly fee, but when I contacted them about a problem with the company, they denied having any information about the items I was paying the insurance on, nor were any help with the company. One of the two phones insured had a camera that wasn't working. After an hour of "easy claims in minutes" they asked for a $70 "deductible" up front, without any assurance I would receive anything on the plan. Oh, it turns out the coverage was, at most half the value of the phone and would be another fee as well. Stay away from this company! Amazon should be held responsible for pushing this plan when you buy a phone.
