I used to buy ASICS for running, but have not had many pairs since. My physical therapist, recommended this exact brand. Why? Because, it will help with my foot, ankle and leg rotation, just by having a stable heel. Also, you can't bend an ASICS brand shoe without lots of force. That's all good. This is my second pair of these shoes. My last one wore out after a couple years which is to be expected. But I needed new shoes and I knew these were great. My feet aren't tired and sore after a long day of being on them. Which is important because I sometimes work on properties during a rehab and need all the stamina I can get. With flat feet, it's so easy to be tired just standing up for a few hours, especially when wearing the wrong shoes. Plus I am able to get these in wide which also makes a big difference. First off, I LOVE the colors and design of these. The fact that the bottom layer (not what actually touches the ground but the foam part of the sole that you can see) is gray rather than white is a huge plus. They don't stain and look old nearly as fast. However, these feel a lot more cheaply made than prior Asics that I've had. They are the perfect size for me, but the shoe kinda slouches a little when I step? Hard to describe, but it's like there just isn't as much structure to the sides of the shoe as there usually is. Also, the plastic part (what would have been leather back in the day) at the toe, has already torn really easily. Like it's just a thinner coating. So even though I really like the overall look of these, the quality is just not as good as typical Asics. And I just wear them as casual every day shoes, not for running, exercise, hiking, etc. ... show more

I like the fit of this model of Asics Gel shoes. Wider toe box, stable, sturdy material. The only thing I don't like are the flimsy shoestrings, but that's easily fixable.

It ain’t pretty or cute, but it is a well structured shoe, which is what I need. I look better not limping around in cuter shoes. The fit is great and they breathe well. This is an older model of the Gel Venture shoe. I had a pair in 6.5 and ordered the Gel Venture 8 (the newer model) in the same size but they were too small. I returned them and ordered this older model in 6.5 and it fit perfectly. The color was not my first choice but it's what was available. It's so frustrating to order online these days as nothing is consistent. But at least, so far, returns have been easy. ... show more
