This shoe appeared on several lists of best running shoes for foot and knee pain, so I decided to give them a try. I walk/run about 4 miles a day on a treadmill during the winter, and was experiencing increasing knee pain, even just walking. (My treadmill belt is not well padded). I have a neutral foot with moderate arches. I had already tried and returned another brand, so did a lot of reading before making another try. The Gel Kayano is supremely comfortable, with nice cushioning, wide toe box, moderate arch support in the right place for me, and a nice rocker effect. It's so comfortable, it doesn't look like it's going to require any sort of break-in period. No rubbing anywhere after several miles. The best thing, my knee pain went away immediately. Although these are intended to be dedicated treadmill shoes, I've been wearing them around the house all day, can't stand to take them off. Sizing may be a little generous, or maybe I'm just not used to having that much room to wiggle my toes. The length seems correct and there's no sliding around in the heel. I ordered some thin running socks, which I should be wearing anyway. While the tops are very breathable, my feet are getting warm underneath, so socks will help prevent any moisture buildup. The price was reasonable... they are changing over to the new model so these were $99. Can't complain about that for a quality shoe! The Gel Kayano is supposed to be very durable , so we'll see how long they last! Love these so much I just may well sleep in them. They're that comfortable!

First of all I am VERY picky when it comes to the comfort of shoes. I will buy several different at a time to try them on. I'm 5'7, in my 50's wear sz11, and not a light weight. I play pickle ball, hike frequently, and walk my dog daily. I have flat feet, & sciatic pain. I know immediately when I put on a pair of shoes if they are going to work or not. I don't feel there should be a "break in time" for athletic shoes. Asics have always been my go to shoe. These particular shoes are lightweight but not flimsy, comfortable, & have enough toe wiggle room space in the toebox. I was able to wear them for Pickeball the same day I bought them. I bought a second pair in the same size. I feel they are true to size. I love the flat laces and when I put them on and tighten them to fit my foot width they stay in place and don't seem to loosen during physical activity. The price is about right also. I dont want to spend more than $100 for a sub par shoe that doesn't feel good immediately.

Asics has outdone themselves this time. I've been using asics gel kayano for 14 years now. I have flat feet and plantar fasciitis. My feet hurt 24 hours a day. I also work in a hospital, walk all over, getting 10+ thousand steps in an average 12 hour shift. That said, this is the best pair of kayano to date. The arch support is quite superior. It does feel a bit soft. It's very nice but I worry that the shoes will wear down sooner. After wearing for a couple months (I got several pair) about once a week, I'm seeing some signs of compression on the sole. I'm still happy I got them. I have already purchased a couple more pairs.

Toebox heaven. I do not have wide feet but needed a wider toe box, neutral running shoe. This is wonderful. Gives ample space, possibly could have sized down 1/2 as a result. They fit good in heel and arch. They are stiffer than my regular saucony or brooks, but they are still comfortable and cushioning.

Wonderful! I have really bad overpronation and first I got these and thought they were bad because I could still feel the overpronation but I got a size smaller and NOW it feels right. My foot feels stable and pain-free. Thank the lord for Asics Kayano 🙏 sighhhh 😌, it's sooo hard to find shoes that don't give me any pain. I was beginning to feel hopeless because none of the shoes I ordered were feeling right. Glad I gave these another shot. It's very hard to get something that fits perfect when ordering online and these feel amazing.

I’m considering buying a 2nd and maybe 3rd pair of these shoes because I LOVE them. I’m very particular about my shoes. I overpronate and struggle to find shoes that provide the support I need and match my style (aka not hideous colors). These shoes check every box and are so cute! I get tons of compliments and have zero back/hip/knee pain!
