One month ago my mom bought a pair of women’s Asics Gel-Kayano 26 Running shoes. She has taken them to the beach, hiking, and has gotten them soaked a few times but they still provide the comfort she needs in her feet to keep exercising. With its attractive colors and Gel technology to cushion her heel these shoes are not going any time soon. People need shoes like these to stay motivated to exercise without having to worry about the souls of their feet straining or if it doesn’t look good with their outfit. The Asics Gel-Kayano are great shoes to run in because they provide much support needed to actively engage any type of workout. The Asics have Gel Technology cushioning system attenuates shock during impact and allows movement in multiple planes for the runners. With this, not as many injuries would occur when landing or running in different types of terrain. These shoes also have an outsole around the ankle and heel to provide support and durability in those areas. Most people might think that this type of Asic shoe is too expensive compared to the average running shoe because of the high tech that supports important areas of the foot; another downside, which is a little frustrating, is that the shoe itself can be a little bulky with its ankle support and huge sole. For a shoe that gives you the ability to run wherever you like in whatever weather you like I think is worth the extra money; using the excuse of not being able to exercise how you want because of the shoes you wear and what it looks like doesn’t get you any closer to achieving you athletic goal. Before my mom got these shoes her feet were damaged from wearing the wrong shoes when working out. Her feet gradually became flat and it was hard for her to get out of bed in the morning without pain in her heels. Ever since she got these shoes her feet feel so much better and walking or running never caused her pain again. The Asics Gel-Kayano are great shoes to run in; comfortable, its support in the ankle, heel and sol, and its impact absorption have a lasting effect on runners who want to be uncommon with their exercising.

I have worn Gel-Kayano shoes for many years. My last 2 pairs were 22's. I regularly participate in high impact workouts and find that these shoes provide great support in the heels and balls of my feet. All my Gel-Kayanos have been a size 8M (regular shoe size 7M). This is a great shoe and, in my opinion, worth every penny. I've let friends talk me into buying other, less expensive, shoes over the years and in every case ended up replacing them almost immediately with a new pair of Gel-Kayanos. As I write this review, I have already worn these shoes for several workouts and find that they live up to my expectations. At first I was hesitant to buy a newer model of Gel-Kayano due to some of the reviews about fit and quality. To help provide input into your decision, I buy Softsole performance inserts and replace the inserts that come with the shoes. I am of slender build, in my mid-50s and have exercised in some capacity since I was a child (read many years of pounding on my feet). I have heel spurs, and know when it's time to buy new shoes when the balls of my feet start bothering me. I hope you find this review helpful. I have attached a picture of my last 2 pairs and me wearing the pair I just bought. UPDATE ADDED OCT 11, 2019: Have now had these shoes for a month. Have exercised in them 3-5x a week and still love them.

I won't buy any other running/walking shoe. By far and away the most comfortable shoe with plenty of cushion. I wear mine into the ground doing on average 10 miles a day so these shoes take a beating and yet my feet don't ache at the end of the day. They also last extremely long and don't fall apart which is amazing given how many miles I put on them during the six month period before wanting to buy another pair. Plus, they come in tons of styles and color combinations making them very attractive as well. This style also runs true to size which is nice because a 7 always fits my foot. I can't recommend this brand and this model enough. Definitely worth the higher price.

I've been disappointed with so many shoes recently. Brands I used to love, redesign things and I have problems. These shoes have required very little break in, my feet don't rub anywhere, they are extremely comfortable and I can walk for hours in them, they are sturdy and provide support but still breathe, the toe box is perfect, and they are nice looking. I usually pick a wide shoe, but don't need it in these. My Mom feels the same way. Between the two of us, we have now bought five pairs.

I love these shoes. Granted, I've only just tried them on. But I never write reviews and this just shows how excited I am to try them running. I've struggled to find a pair that fits well because I have wide feet. I followed what others suggested and ordered a half size up... and wide. I was worried they would be huge and or something wouldn't be right and I'd have to return yet another pair of shoes. But they are perfect, fit wonderfully,are very comfortable, seem well made and do not look huge. For the first time ever I feel like I've found a pair of shoes made for my feet. I cannot wait to go running. I'm only giving a 4star because I have not actually ran in them but I know by the way they fit they will be great.

I normally have a hard time finding a pair of athletic shoes that work for me. I've had pretty good luck with Asics so I gave these a try. I've had them now well over a year and I walk in them everyday, outside or at the gym and I will say they are the best shoes I've ever invested in. They are comfortable with support, not too rigid but also, not too soft. I recently ordered another pair even though they have held up so well, I won't need the new pair for a while yet. My size can range from 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 I ordered a 8M and they fit perfectly.
