Why I only choose Asics for 8 years. Love the GEL types. Great arch support and durabable last a long time. Fit is great breathable amd soles have perfect grip. This particular Gel Excite first time purchase wow van never go wrong with Asics! Tried other brands a lot of hype sent right back to store. Lightweight!! use for Zummba, cardio dance, strength and conditioning. Suggest for playing pickelball Gel Condend or court ones either fine. Fellow players have switched to Asics.     • Not enough arch support
I actually really like these shoes for their price point. I bought them specifically because reviews seemed like they had adequate arch support. I have found they do not have enough arch support. They are pretty thick foam. If you're used to slim shoes like Converse, they are going to take some getting used to. I wear these with Smartwool socks from REI, and I walked 3-6 miles on a couple days. The first day I walked 3 miles in them, my feet hurt a lot afterwards. Maybe they do need some breaking in because the day I walked 6 miles, I had little to no discomfort. Just the normal weary feet after walking that much, and some pain because the arch support wasn't enough. No blisters, but that might be because of my socks (they are magic!!). The laces are a bit too short for me, and/or maybe I should have sized up since my socks are so thick. Edit: After having these shoes for almost a year, they are worn out and I'm getting ready to replace them. They lasted me 11 months, although they've been too worn out for maybe the last month or so of that. The ways they are wearing out can kind of be dealt with? The back of the inner heel has a hole worn through layers into the foam, and my big and pinky toes have worn holes into the top. The fabric they use for the shoe uppers is very breathable, which means it's easy for water to soak through, and it's soft enough that it wears out quickly. Now, the soles are still fine. If it weren't for the uppers, I could wear these shoes for probably another year. I've been using them almost daily for the gym, walking around town, etc. They did end up having decent arch support, at least it stopped hurting after I broke them in. ... show more

I absolutely love these shoes they reduce the tension on my feet and help with my back. Before these shoes I had feet knee and lower back pain. I have noticed a significant decrease in these since wearing these shoes. I did however use a shoe protectant spray on them to help repel dirt so that they nice and bright white longer. Comfy. But don’t last, I wear these at work in a dental office, not even 2 months of wear (4 day workweek with 8 hour shifts) and they’ve got holes in them on the toes…
