The gel bottom is supportive and provides a springy cushion, but I don't find the shoe heavy or overly "spongy." The toe box on this model is wider than some other brands I've tried (i.e. Brooks, New Balance). I have regular feet and did not find the shoe to be too narrow or too wide. Fit as expected. These tennis shoes are so supportive and comfortable! I especially like the design of the slim tongue and especially light weight. Literally feel like I’m walking on air. Good support too. I’m a nurse and good shoes like these are very important so my feet still feel great after a long 12hr shift!
