I love this shoe. So comfortable and fits just like my previous Asics; breathable and not stiff. I find they run slightly small, so consider ordering a half size up (I typically wear an 8 but need an 8.5 in these). Note that the indigo fog color is not very accurate based on the product images. This is my second pair of Asics Gel Contend shoes. Due to foot issues, I need a larger toe box. This shoe works well and is very comfortable. I love the color, and the laces are sturdy and stay tied. I normally wear a 9,5 shoe, but because of a right foot bunion I ordered the 10.5 and can wear with sock liners. This allows me to walk 4 or 5 miles daily, at age 77 years.. Great product. I also wear HOKA shoes for hiking and walking, but these are much less expensive. Good quality for the price! ... show more

My usual size for sports shoes or sneakers is 7.5. I ordered size 8 since 7.5 was out of stock. Glad I ordered size 8 because 7.5 would have been small for me. With size 8, the width and length is just right. When I'm using thick socks it's a bit tight, but not to the point of being uncomfortable. I'm in my 70's, with lots of foot problems. I have always liked Asics but this style is my favorite. It has good cushioning inside, and a wide enough toe box so my feet don't feel cramped.
