I have wide feet with a high instep. Regular shoes are either tight on me or do not fit right, but the X-Wide size that ASICS offers is a godsend, and I just love the comfort and performance running shoe; It fits me perfectly and the variety of different colors make each purchase even better. My current purchase was a Black with White and hot Lime Green trim Gel Venture 9 running shoe. Sometimes I buy two different color pairs for different days and events/venues. I walk routinely every day if I can, but I simply use it for everything: at work, grocery shopping, exercise, casual… it’s starting to become my everything footwear (except for sleep). I recall the first time I came across an X-Wide Gel Venture 5 years ago at Ross Dress For Less, and found it so good I repurchased the shoe on Amazon because Ross gets their selection at random or not at all. At Amazon you get to what you order and these always fit right (for whatever reason) so I never needed to do a return (yet). Come to think of it, I have only purchased and worn ASICS Gel Venture iterations for the past several years (thank you Amazon). In conclusion, for this particular shoe model and brand, the extra wide options are accommodating in size and shape and fits me well. The ASICS Gel-Venture 9 shoes are the best at performance and comfort for the price point offered and I plan to continue to purchase the next numbers in the line for years to come. May this shoe line be long lived (because I would like to continue to have good shoes at a fair price).

Full disclosure: I'm writing this review under my wife's account because it is our main Amazon account... Asics sizes seem to have changed recently, or at least with the Gel-Venture 9. I just bought myself some Gel-Venture 9s to replace my old Gel-Venture 7s but my usual size was too small. I placed them next to my well-worn Gel-Venture 7s in the "same" size but the 9s were noticeably smaller. Then I remembered being amazed at the start of the school year when I bought both of my growing boys Gel-Venture 9s in-store and their shoe sizes went up way more than expected. So, on a hunch, I returned mine and ordered another pair in a size larger, and they fit like my old size! My kids and I have been wearing Asics and New Balance for years because they are some of the few brands that offer 4E sizes that are also great quality. I would normally rate both 5 stars, but this apparent size change cost me some disappointment, several days without my new shoes, and a trip to UPS to return the small ones.. I recommend trying shoes on in-store before buying. I would have done the same, but all the stores in our city didn't have any shoes listed online in my size.

The Venture 5 was one of the best shoes Asics made, and they completely redesigned it starting with Venture 6. Venture 6-8 were a complete disappointment - inferior build quality, poorly designed lugs that provided almost no traction to name just a couple issues, seemingly a completely new shoe rather than an updated version of an existing product - and left me looking for a different brand for the past couple of years since the last time I was able to get the Venture 5. Now the 9 is finally an improvement over the past few versions of the shoe. Though still not as good as the 5 it's the best shoe I've been able to find with the right fit for me. The design could stand to add another pair or two of eyelets, and the laces are completely cut-rate compared to what Asics used to use on the 5, but overall it's a good shoe and I've already bought 2 pairs of them (and will continue to buy the Venture 9 until Asics comes out with a hopefully improved Venture 10).

It is a good running/ walking shoe. It was the same shoe as advertised on Amazon and was delivered without damage and on time. It provides nice support and cushion for me when I run. I am very happy with the shoe for the price, and I did not have to drive to the shoe store and not find what I was looking for in my size. I will definitely buy again when I wear this pair out.

Big fan of Aisics gel venture trainers. I have a pair of the lighter weight 8s model wich are very comfortable and supportive, these 9s are the same great fit but are heavier due to the more robust sole which are great on rocky surfaces with good grip for climbing. Both pairs are a good fit for my foot and affordable 👌

I tried on a lot of sneakers at local stores, mostly high end sneakers. I ended up buying two pair, this was one, Brookes was the other. I was going to return the Brookes but realized having a backup pair would be useful, so I kept both pairs. I have flat feet, these feel good to me. It's always a personal fit & feel when buying shoes, so I suggest trying on everything you can.
