I bought these Asics Gel-Venture 8 shoes for walking in nature mostly on asphalt paths through the woods/nature. They are not as comfortable as the Asics Gel Nimbus shoes but they are half the price and they are still comfortable. I like that these shoes are more rounded in front not smashing my toes together which can force the big toe inward which can create a bunion [A bunion is a bony bump that forms on the joint at the base of your big toe. It occurs when some of the bones in the front part of your foot move out of place. This causes the tip of your big toe to get pulled toward the smaller toes and forces the joint at the base of your big toe to stick out]. For added comfort I installed my favorite insole [CVS Health Men's Copper Foam Insoles. I add those to all my shoes/boots; It has a decent thickness under the toes for added comfort; It's like 1/8 inch thick dense black rubber that has a fast bounce back unlike memory foam that bounces back very slow; Having a faster bounce back rubber insole will give more support, the support will always be there; With memory foam you press down and it stays down for a long time before recovering back into shape which is the opposite of consistent support]. I will update this review after I see how long the rubber outsoles last; The rubber outsoles on my Asics Gel Dedicate 7 shoes I use for tennis wore out in just 1-1/2 months and Asics said they will not send me a replacement because they stopped guaranteeing how long the rubber outsole will last [They use to have a 1 year guarantee; If the rubber outsole wore out within 1 year Asics use to send a replacement]; I've found that the rubber outsoles on Asics shoes wear out too fast; I'm in search of shoes that have a more durable outsole rubber; Prince Tennis shoes have a 6 month outsole durability guarantee; So for now I will go with Prince tennis shoes for tennis and for walking in nature.

I wasn't sure how they would fit because the 1st pair of Asics I had always felt and looked a half size too big. A second pair I owned felt just a tad too small. This pair of gel venture 8s feel perfect! I have bad hips and need both of them replaced eventually so I'm always looking for a good comfortable shoe. I put these on and was wowed! I tied them up and walked around the house a little. It feels like the toe box widens as I take a step making these feel even more comfortable than they already are. They're light and just feel so good on my feet. Not too tight and not too loose. Just such a good fit. A guy I work with has the same pair and loves them! He wears them everyday so they're well worn in and he says they're still comfortable and he even bought a 2nd pair to have ready to go for when the current pair wear out. Which will be very soon 😆 Anyway that was enough for me to check them out and I'm so glad I did! He had no idea what model they were so I had to research a little, but it didn't take me long. I found a great price here on Amazon so I ordered a pair and couldn't wait for them to arrive! They were definitely worth the excitement! My brooks ghost 15s are like walking on pillows but I just love they way these gel ventures fit! I use insoles in my brooks and other shoes. Not with these though! They're good as they are and much cheaper! So dang glad I came back to asics. All because of a guys worn out pair at work. Gotta love it! I highly suggest checking them out! I even ordered a 2nd pair to have on deck because they just fit so good and feel so comfortable! Nvm the great price! I didn't want to miss out on the price but also didn't want to worry about them not being made anymore since the 9s are now out. Been seeing and hearing really good things about those now! I guess they deff improve on the 8s and actually are better. I'll check them out eventually. I'm happy enough with the 8s! Great job Asics! I tried the venture 9s and I don't like how bulky they are. The toe box has too much space between the top of my foot and the top of the toe box. They're comfortable, but the 8s seem to be the sweet spot for me. They've been great so far! They just fit my feet so good! I also like the toe box mesh material more on the 8s. I just love the 8s so far!

My husband has a couple other pairs of these in other colors. They are super versatile. He loves them enough to ask me to keep an eye out for good deals in them. These shoes are durable! He wears them to work as a nurse, and they remain comfortable for his 12 hour shift. He also runs and does woodwork while at home where they also perform well. I appreciate that they hold up and look nice after so much wear to go out with our family or for casual dates.

Got these for trail runners as my old "street hikers" were worn out after years of love. I am VERY happy with these! PROS: - super lightweight & breathable - not waterproof so do not trap water in my shoes on a rainy day (like a Gore Tex shoe) - good cushioning in the shoe - nice solid tread on the bottom - fit as expected (my 9.5 was true to size with my foot) CONS: - if you want waterproof shoes, these are not it - if you need super sturdy ankle support, these are not it - not a big fan of the laces - a little short I did eventually replace the OEM laces with Lock Laces (shock cord) and these are even better for my needs! Highly recommend!

I didn't buy this for running but I do walk 2-4 miles a day with my dog. The fit was perfect, my feet are 10.5" without socks. WITH socks these shoes fit just right. Not too small, not too big. The material is great, but I haven't had them for long so I'll be sure to update this review if the things fall apart quickly. The tread on these things is aggressive AF. That's probably because they're running shoes but I honestly don't know. What I do know is I walk around and feel these things gripping to the ground. While also being some of the most comfortable shoes I've walked around in. I'll be buying ASIICS again.
