Description

The ASICS Gel Kayano 27 shoes offer extremely comfortable cushioning and support when running. The flex grooves are designed deeper, which makes the forefoot rolling more smoothly. Thanks to the FlyteFoam material in the midsole, the running shoes spoil you with optimal cushioning. The running shoes also ensure a more efficient running pattern. This is due to the revised Guidance Trusstic System, which is integrated into the Guidance Line technology. The shoes are equipped with the new 3.5 mm Ortholite Lasting. In combination with the heel counter, this provides a better lockdown feeling. The outsole has ASICS AHAR technology. The outsole has retained the benefits of grip and traction.

  • Comfortable shoe
Great shoe. Should’ve ordered a half size larger but runs pretty close to true size. Very comfortable

  • Good for overpronator and heavier runner
I’ve run in all kinds of brands of shoes, but I stick with Asics and Br**ks. I’ve mainly worn Br**ks the last 5 years, but decided to switch back to Asics for awhile. These shoes are perfect for me. I’m a 5’,9” 205lb 43 year old (not breaking any land speed records anytime soon). I mainly run on cinder and asphalt trails which also have some mud, dirt, and grass. I like to get in a 2-5 mile run after work 3 times a week. These shoes have about 150 miles on them and they still have cushion/bounce to them. I’ve run on freshly paved asphalt trails on 95° sunny afternoons, and I’ve run in the 35° cold rain and mud. Other than the tread slightly wearing (I do that to all shoes in those conditions), these shoes are holding up pretty well. I’d say they have another 150 miles left in them. ... show more

  • ASICS Has Finally Won Me Over
I require an extra wide running shoe and have purchased New Balance for over 40 years. They have always been adequate to my needs, but I cannot say I ever "enjoyed" wearing them. Early last year, I discovered that ASICS offers width sizing so I bought a pair of ASICS GT 2000 9 to replace the New Balance 990 V4 I was wearing at the time. (You will not that I overpronate and have to buy a stability shoe.) I had mixed feelings about the GT 2000. I loved the fact it felt so light, but found it was quite tight in the middle. Anyway, I decided to give ASICS another chance and found a great sale price on Amazon for the Kayano 27 ($89.99). I am really happy with the Kayano 27. They seem roomier in the middle, nicely cushioned, and somewhere between the ASICS 2000 9 and the New Balance 990 in terms of weight. (The New Balance shoes are too heavy and I can understand why they are called "Daddy shoes".) The Kayano 27 is a perfect compromise in terms of weight. They are not quite as liberating as the GT 2000, but not as oppressive as the New Balance 990. (Which also comes at an oppressive price tag.) Finally, one problem with having extra wide feet is that the prettiest and more colorful running shoes are often unavailable, and you need to either choose something in black or something in an off-color. Luckily, I actually like the black/silver Kayanos I purchased and don't feel I made too much of a compromise on my color selection. And getting these shoes at such a great price makes me feel good as well. ... show more

  • So comfortable. Like a supportive cloud!
300 lb husband does a lot of walking at work and now it's like walking on a very supportive cloud. 4E width is perfect for him. He's been in Kayanos for decades and these live up to this line of Asics. The only con is the fabric goes too far forward on the toe area and kind of puckers up. Just looks a little weird, but doesn't affect performance. Love the 27s! ... show more

  • Best running shoes Inever had
Best running shoes I ever had. They were recommended to me by by my podiatrist, who is a runner. Can’t go wrong with that. Unfortunately they are not available anymore. I really wish they would come back. I hope to find them in a running store.

  • ASICS Gel-Kayano 27 - best redesign ever!
I am a purely recreational race walker with an addiction to mileage. Every month I walk approximately 200+ miles on sidewalks and streets. These Gel-Kayano 27 are absolutely the best I have ever worn! The fit is superb - I have bunions and wide feet. The 2E fits my toe-box perfectly while maintaining a snug hold on my heal! This model is wider than previous models. Hence, the wear on the soles is more even and the stability greatly enhanced! Lastly the comfort provided my the redesign is perfect for mega-mile, multiple hour walking sessions. A bit costly, but worth every penny!! I highly recommend the Gel-Kayano 27! ... show more

  • Great stability shoe for every day use.
I was turned onto stability shoes in a New Balance store several years ago and fell in love with a pair of 860s. When it was time to replace them, I checked some professional reviews and heard from several friends that I definitely had to try aSICS. I took the plunge and haven't looked back. The lighter weight, better cushion and more natural fit make this shoes leaps and bounds better, for me, than the NB 860. The mesh material makes this shoe very cool for wearing around anywhere you go. The toe box is a little bigger than I expected, but it's not troublesome. There was also a "stiff" corner at the big toe but after a few days, that is gone. I'm not a runner, but my feet feel SO much better now. aSICS has certainly earned a new fan. ... show more
