I have a terrible time finding comfortable shoes because as I get older my bunions get worse. Use the size chart; you will probably find a size larger than what you expected will be the best fit. I typically wear women's medium-wide 9.5 and ended up with men's 10.5 extra wide. I absolutely love them. I can wear them all day and my feet don't hurt in the morning like they used to. Always liked Asics, shoes are comfortable and wear well, very durable. This particular pair was a lot more narrow in the toe box and about a half size shorter than my previous pair. I've never required wide shoes so something changed in their factory last? Still, I recommend Asics, just wouldn't work for me this time. ... show more

I exercise walk for about an hour each day reaching about 4 miles on concrete. These feel great on my feet for any activity. I have tried other sneakers and the ASICS Men's Gel-Contend series has always worked best for me. They can easily be had for around $40, with shipping included, when on sale. I am a heel striker and the heel wears out before the rest of the tread. I usually get about 3 to 6 months wear out of these before replacing, because of worn tread...between 360 to 720 miles. In the photos above, the shoes I am reviewing are the grey ASICS Men's Gel-Contend 7. The shoes with the black with blue stripes are ASICS Men's Gel-Contend 6. As you can see the styling has changed from the 6 to the 7. Also, the ASICS Men's Gel-Contend 6 tread is on the left and the 7s are on the right. Notice the change there also. Not sure if the 7 tread will have more mileage or not since I have not been able to use these yet. The new 7s do feel very comfortable on my feet with the first try on. Good shoe. had to get a half size larger because I think this shoe run small and I’m glad I did.Good cushioning and slip resistant. Except be careful I walked into a McDonald’s store with a wet tile floors and that’s the only time it felt a little bit slippery. These running shoes are so light, it's like you don't even feel them at times. I use them for walking even though they are meant for runners. Don't even need a different insole; perfect as they are. Will definitely get another pair when these wear out!
