Nice software. The reading part is really helpful, the little tricks in the pages are really fun. The reaonsing game, the gift mystery, is kind of hard for my 4.5-yr old. My daughter enjoys looking for the clues but it is hard to get the problem solved. Will look into it myself. Pin the tail is kind of too easy. My daughter would only spend a little time on it. Wouldn't load on my laptop. Very disappointing. I am not sure what's wrong here. Won't load on anyone's computer in the house either! Disappointing.

    • A few significant glitches
My child loves Arthur Living Books, this one is great, but the software has a few glitches. Some of the pages wouldn't turn,(click them and nothing happens)and sometimes trying to click the back arrow wouldn't my child got very upset with it...

    • Good for Windows 98 computers
Arthur's Birthday is a good computer story book. Some animation on each page. I use the read-to-me option for my 4 year old grandson. I could not get it to run on my old Win XP computer or on my newer Win 7 computer, so pulled out my old Toshiba Win 98 laptop and run it from there. This also lets me stay on my computer. If you still use Windows 98, then this is good. You could try the Win 98 compatibility mode on your XP computer and see if it works on your's. It didn't on mine. If you use Win 7, don't bother. ... show more
